I sent emails to several companies complaining about Letterman's Palin joke. Got this response back from Hellmann's.
Sometimes they DO listen....even if just a tad. Must have been lots of people doing likewise to get Letterman to issue the apology he did yesterday.

I’m wondering what that pair of “Jokes” has cost so far in ad revenue?
Let’s not forget there was a third joke, either later that night or Tuesday that Spitzer was asking her daughter out. Since Spitzer goes out with whores, Letterman basically called her daughter a whore.
I can’t eat Mayo, but I am going to get a jar of Hellman’s next time OI go to the store.
Funny how we can organize and put real pressure to bear on the media over a tasteless and crude joke, but we cannot seem to do much about the media’s cover up of the fraudulent anti-American anti-Semitic occupant of the oval office.
By no means do I offer excuses for Letterman... he gets what he deserves... but it was a JOKE!... the media is selling us out to our enemies, and we just continue to pay the bills for the filth that enters our living rooms that REALLY DOES affect our lives and our future.

We are, but we are being ignored. We have to pay our taxes, which is the equivalent to sponsorship. The election is already over and a tiny % more American "purchased" the product and we can't take it back for a refund for another 3 LONG years.
The dynamics are quite different.
But taking out letterman lets the other know we do still have teeth and we are a force to be reckoned with.

I love Hellman’s mayo but I sent them an email yesterday telling them I was switching to Kraft if they continued sponsoring Letterman. I haven’t received a reply yet but I’m delighted they pulled their advertising. I would have hated to switch.
Wow! That’s a relief. Their mayo is tops. Sold as Best Foods out on the left coast.
Buy some and then make this:
QUICK AND CRUNCHY PORK CHOPS (Mmmm pork....)
2 boneless pork chops - 1 inch thick
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon sugar
6 Tablespoons mayo
Pre heat oven to 425.
Salt and pepper pork chops.
Mix bread crumbs, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, and sugar with 2 Tablespoons mayo.
Slather pork chops with 4 Tablespoons mayo.
Press crumb mixture onto pork chops.
Bake on wire rack for 18-22 minutes (140 degrees internal temp)
Let rest 5-10 minutes. Serve.
So good, I almost bite my tongue every time I make it.
No. It wasn't. It was a statement that slimed and probably humiliated a little girl. Since when do good people stand by and allow children to be used as political fodder especially in a sexual way?
Also there is a double standard. Had this been said about Obamas 10 yr old, Letterman would be hiding in a closet a year later. Is Palins 14 year old daughter less that good people should ignore the awful things that were said?
Our society is coarsening and we stand by and allow it. Also a lot of idiots form political opinions based on pop culture and Letterman is part of that pop culture.

I just think more important things should be getting this kind of backlash... not just against letterman
