I would find it more disturbing if he had been in his right frame of mind. I also believe it was likely he did not set himself on fire because he smoked pot, but that he smoked pot so he could blot out in his mind what he planned to do.

Something about this brings to mind that old classic "Reefer Madness". Maybe if he'd set himself on fire using too much charcoal lighter fuel trying to light his grill to cook all that food he just picked up at Quickee Mart it would ring more true.

Or maybe he just didn't want to tell the cops he was freaked out on crack. But if pot did this to you, there wouldn't be so many grey-haired hippies left.

Change the title to “Man on 2 small glasses of wine attempts suicide”, & you might understand why this is stupid. If you have ever had 2 small glasses of wine, you would know that is NOT why he tried to kill himself.

It is more likely that the pot smoking kept him from killing himself before now. If a suicidal person takes medication to prevent suicide, & he kills himself anyway, do you blame the medication?

This man has a deep & huge pain in his soul. He self-medicated himself with pot & likely alcohol & other drugs to kill the pain. But the medication did not work.

I’d be curious to know how much alcohol was in his system. That is usually the thing that pushes people beyond reason.
