They should just make it illegal.

Like the rest of us, tobacco is soon to be ‘overtaxed and underrepresented.’ :(

largely unregulated in this country. Yes, you have to be of certain age, the tabacco additives are carefully controlled, the price is highly controlled via massive taxation, consumption is a negative in most health-related questionnaires...
Yep, largely unregulated!

As par for the course, the WaPo article is designed to congratulate the 'Rats for passing some legislation that may make them feel good but will have little or no direct impact on tobacco consumption or tobacco related disease. All this legislation does is to rearrange the bureaucracy.
It's totally unnecessary because cigarette consumption in the US has been steadily declining as is. But it never occurs to statists in government that one shouldn't fix something that isn't broken. They would rather get publicity for claiming to "get things done" when in fact they are doing nothing but creating an ever more expansive government.
BTW, the fact that "Philip Morris is supporting it" should give you some idea of its anticipated effect on sales. (Actually, it's not "Philip Morris" who supported the legislation, but rather Altria, since Altria (domestic division) split with Philip Morris International (foreign division) last year.)

Beware of articles that use the canards, “broad,”
“sweeping,”and “reform.” Those are among the commies’ favorite weasel words for applauding themselves while sticking it to the rest of us.
