A couple family photos:

Now I just need something with P90s. I have an old Korean Samick (actually pretty nice) with a set neck and mini hums that I'm thinking of making into a project P90 rocker.

I had a Mexican made Fender Jazz Bass. Quality and sound was about 3 stars out of 4. Not bad at all.
If you can get your hands on a used Fender via craigslist or what have you. Keep your eye open for the Japanese models. Fender scuttled the plant after the quality surpased the American made guitars.
Real nice find.

Strat man with plenty of Line 6 gearI'm a big Line6 fan, too. I've got a PodXT Live through a Crate Powerblock that sounds just phenomenal.

Like the neighbor, I'm new to guitar. Still haven't much of a clue about where to find notes on the neck, the frets, blah blah blah. I'd bought an acoustic and even if I take it outside, my strained notes are washed out by traffic. Like yourselves, I try not to disturb neighbors unduly... 'cept of course with the lawnmower.
Now, once I know what I'm doing, and I'm not frightening mice or birds, then I'll start looking for an electric guitar and speaker. Learn to play the Blues.

My question is this: Have any of you guitar players ever subjected your neighbors to amateurish playing via an amp?Lord knows I did... but I was 14 at the time.
Now I just subject them to merely bad playing. :)

Fascinating - I didn't know Fender had a Japanese plant, thanks.

Does it have a fat U-shaped neck? If not, I have an extra '52 reissue neck lying around somewhere. No, it's a modern C-shaped neck.

With your screen name, Id figure you were a Rick guy! Nope, the screen name comes from my first car, a red '74 Fiat 124.
I'm mainly a Gibson guitar guy, and Fender amp guy. And a lot of custom-built stuff...

I started playing around 1974. My first guitar was Lafayette or something like that. Then I graduated to a Tesco. Pliers were required for tuning that beast. The electronics were descent. In 1975 I bought a 1965 white Srat. I had to have on cause Jimi had one!

The Japanese have been buiding Fenders since the mid-80s, and their instruments from that era are among the finest in the history of the company. ...and highly sought after today.

Now have four acoustics, an Ovation I play a lot, also have a classical with no name and a 12 string Mexican guitar that must be 100 years old. I picked it up at a flea market, nice sound, very loud, best for playing in group singalongs, but most I really like the look, it has a lot of inlaid mother of pearl. Also have a 12 string Yamaha and an electric Gibson, low-end model I bought 30 years ago, don't play it too much. Also finally I have a violin from Hoffner in Germany, also a little old but a nice sound, I do not play it but have a friend that says it sounds very nice when he comes over to play along, he always grabs it first.

That’s a Tele Deluxe. The (’70s style) Custom has a humbucker in the neck position, a trad. Tele single coil at the bridge (as well as the trad. ashtray bridge), and a trad. small Tele headstock.
