A former New York state inmate alleges he was permanently injured when a prison nurse failed to treat a 55-hour erection caused by an anti-psychotic drug.
In a federal court suit, Dawud Yaduallah, formerly known as David Hanley, said the damage has caused problems in his marriage and he needs a prosthesis to "possibly restore some sexual function, The New York Post reported Monday.
Yaduallah said nurse Judith Lovelace's alleged "cruel and uncivilized conduct" occurred in March 2006 at the prison in Fishkill when his dosage of Seroquel was increased by 25 percent. Side effects of Seroquel, an anti-psychotic, include painful erections, the Post reported.
Yaduallah, 43, alleges Lovelace did nothing but tell him to put ice on his penis and then sent him back to his cell. Yaduallah, who was serving time for assault, said he was erect and in severe pain for 55 hours before finally getting hospital treatment to relieve his problem.
Lovelace, who retired in 2007, was not available for comment, the Post reported.
The morning “zoo” I listen to on the way home was talking about this guy’s plight. Since the station has a local law firm that allows them to call in with on-air legal questions, they asked the (female) lawyer about it.
She answered about the current case and then mentioned a client of hers who sued the driver who caused his permanent penile damage in a car wreck. He was (still is) so well-endowed that, instead of dressing right or left, he just drove with it yoinked up under the lap belt... It never returned to functioning.
That pretty much covers it.
Oh, uh, sorry to make you wince.
Was his name Sascha Dubinsky?
Um... Wiki didn’t know him and Google knew too many!
(Sorry, missed what’s prolly a humorous reference.)
The best way to explain it is for you watch this video. If necessary, borrow somebody else’s computer.
