The Lakers are favored, but it would not surprise me at all if the Magic defeat them. This series should be a great deal of fun. FReepers on each side will be screaming about the refs and their team got robbed. We will read personal diatribes and anger as intense as we see during political campaigns. Have fun.
Predictions, anyone?
I hate the Lakers for what they did to my Nuggets, so go Magic. On the other hand, I have new-found respect for Kobe for his defense of the US during an interview in the middle of the Olympics. But overall, I favor the Magic, especially as it will continue to ruin Nike’s advertising campaign.
LA 4-2
BEAT LA!
What are you talking about? Are you out of your freaking mind? (There is an example of what is in store on this thread. Lots of fun. ) :)
!!! BEAT LA !!!
Orlanda Magic, in less than 3 !!!

The NBA Finals begin on Thursday night in Los Angeles as Kobe Bryant and the Lakers host Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.
Magic at Lakers - 9:05pm EST on ABC
NBA Finals odds for Game 1 are set as Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers are favored by 6-points when they host Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic Thursday night at 9:05pm EST on ABC.
Los Angeles is back in NBA Finals odds for the second consecutive year and 30th time in franchise history while the Magic are in the NBA Finals for the second time in their history.
The matchup between the Magic and Lakers should be a good one as Orlando has the dominating presence of Howard while the Lakers have Kobe.
The Lakers will try and control Howard with three big men, Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom.
I’m a Laker fan, and I’m worried that they will have their hands full with Dwight Howard. I think Odom is getting the assignment to contain “superman”. Hope he’s up to the job!
The refs already have it in for the Magic. I know this to be true.
Go Lakers! I cannot wait for the game to start.
It will be interesting to see how the Lakers handle Dwight. Bynum should be earning his paycheck here but he will no doubt get in foul trouble early.
The length of the series will be dragged on and on by bad calls and refs.
given 0bama has picked LA, I am going for Orlando.
Being that the Lakers are my favorite team in the West and the Magic is my favs in the East...I’m just going to enjoy the games!!!
I took the Magic in the series. 2.5 to 1. Don’t normally bet NBA, but what the hell. I’m bored. :-)
Magic Johnson’s playing again? Isn’t he old?
