I happened upon IT Crowd quite by accident one evening. While I was perusing my Netflix que, I saw a program that was recommended to me becase of my recent selections. I saw that IT Crowd was instant play so I gave it a try and have been hooked since. I absolutely love Moss, Roy and Jan. Jan applies at a job at Reynholm. The interviewer says I see you have computer experience on your resume. Jan replies indeed, I send email, i delete email, i receive email. I know about the mouse, the screen, etc. And he makes her director of the IT department. Moss is a jewel, he has big Afro type hair with a part in it and these highwater pants. And Roy is a hilarious Irish character who is simply adoreable. Here is a part that is really really funny. Moss talks about prostitutes, but this is mild compared to the crap that is on American television. You know bedhopping, homosexual nymphos.

Scene 8 Roy: Really really, it was a true story. Unbelievable.

Office girl: I don't know why we don't go out with you IT guys more often. You're hilarious!

Roy: Yes, we are!

Jen: You guys should come down here more often. You should see this as a new era for Reynholm Industries.

Roy: "A new era for Reynholm Industries"

Oh, you what, if you want to hear something really funny, a really funny story, you should hear what happened to Moss and I when we were so drunk in Amsterdam that Moss lost his glasses. Moss! Moss! Come here, come here. Tell them that story about when we were drunk in Amsterdam.

Moss: Really?

Roy: Yeah, yeah. Oh It's brilliant, this is a great story, you're gonna love it. I'm just gonna get another box of wine.

Office guy: Well, go on then.

Moss: All right. Well. One night we really drunk, and err... we were so drunk that we decided to hire prostitutes.

(the laughter falls silent. Jen spits out her drink)

But when they arrived at the hotel we were too scared to do anything so we brought them to a fair. They were really nice. In the end they only charged us half but we did have to pay for all the rides.

Roy: Haha! Oh isn't that just the best story.

Moss: You told me to never tell that story to anyone.

Roy: What are you talking about? That's a brilliant story and then you walked into the canal. Has it got to that part with the boat man?

Moss: Oh, you mean the story where I lost my glasses.

Roy: Yes. What story

If you are looking for something that is truly funny instead of the crap on American television give this one a try. I am laughing at some of the lines as I write this. Jan the spider is on my person is one of the best lines. Watch the show and you will see what I mean.

I stumbled on that one as well. There are some really funny lines.

I like the episode with the red shoes and the declaration of war on stress.

As an IT guy myself, I love it when he answers the phone.. tells them to reboot and hangs up.

I found it in exactly the same way several weeks ago. Season 1 was excellent. Season 2 was not. From what I've seen of Season 3 it looks like they got back to the humor.

This one is my all time favorite.

Also, be sure to remember the new number 0118-999-881-999-119-725.......3!

It’s on the IFC channel Friday nights at 11:30 PM. I’ve seen it the past two weeks, it’s worth a laugh. The one episode they got advice from an internet site on remarks to make about the previous night’s soccer games, so they could sound talk to “normal” men.

They tried out their lines and befriended some guys in a bar. They turned out to be bank robbers.

It’s ok. I liked the second series more than the first. The “ Internet in a shoebox” episode was a riot.

more quotes . . .

Roy: [answers phone] Hello IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again? ... OK, well, the button on the side. Is it glowing? ... Yeah, you need to turn it on. Err, the button turns it on. Yeah, you do know how a button works, don’t you? No, not on clothes.

[Moss’s phone rings. He answers it.]
Moss: Hello IT. Yuhuh. Have you tried forcing an unexpected reboot?

Roy: No, there you go, I just heard it come on. No, that’s the music you hear when it comes on. No, that’s the music you hear when... I’m sorry, are you from the past?

___________________________

At Denholm’s funeral . . .

Moss: I’m sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Reynholm: Thank you.

Moss: It’s not like you’ve lost a pen, is it? It’s so much worse. Would you like a pen? I have a spare one.

Mrs. Reynholm: No thank you.

Moss: Please take it.

Mrs. Reynholm: Why are you giving it to me?

Moss: I don’t know. [Hands her the pen] Swings and roundabouts.

Good, though nowhere near as good as the ORIGINAL “The Office” with Ricky Gervais. Liked the first season more than the second.

Well that certainly explains the AGW crisis.

This show and “the Office” aren’t even in the same genre.

I know. I just have a nasty habit of lumping all non-US TV together.

“The Office” cracked me up with Gareth asking why a farmer would have a fox in the first place, since they’re mortal enemies.

My brother turned me onto this series. Funny as hell! Wish we could get programming like this here rather than YouTube and buying DVD’s of seasons.
