Tonight, just as the sun was setting, I decided to go sit on my front porch for a bit. The air was still, dusk was setting in. But something was unusual. The birds were squawking; so many birds, so loudly. This was quite unusual - and it raised the hair on the back of my neck.

Then it was there - as quick as a blink - walking across my lawn - a very large, golden colored feline. At first, I didn't believe what I was seeing - cats aren't that big! This was bigger than a german shepherd!

I immediately thought it must be a mountain lion (which has been spotted in this area). I ran back into the house, as the cat headed down my driveway.

My heart was racing, as mountain lions have been known to attack humans, fatally.

I went to Mr.G's images, and searched 'mountain lions'. No, this was not one, I was certain. Another search on 'bobcats' was a 'BINGO'!

But, something was not quite right. Bobcats don't reach over 30 lbs., and this animal appeared to be at least 60 lbs.

I may never know how a bobcat could grow so big, but I'll tell ya one thing - my yorkie will no longer be going out to potty without her 'mom' carrying 'protection'.

Holy cow! That is some cat! No wonder the critters sounded upset!

It was HUGE, Luvie! Last year, a bobcat broke into a neighbor’s house through their screen door. The couple ran to a separate room, slammed the door and called 9-1-1. The bobcat was destroyed in their family room - and found to have rabies.

Then, a couple months ago, two people were attacked in a bar by a bobcat that wandered in. (Guess he didn’t like what was on tap.) It also was killed, and found to have rabies.

So, I am going to be very cautious from now on!

Oh my goodness, yorkie! I bet you were shaking in your shoes, I would have definitely been. Now every time you go out, you will be looking around.

A couple of weeks ago, a small bear was spotted about a block from where I live. The bad thing was I didn’t know about it until a few days later when my SIL told me. I hadn’t seen the local t.v. news for a few days and I only take the newspaper on Friday, Sat. and Sunday. Then a couple of days ago, my next door neighbor pointed it out to me again and he said on the t.v. it showed the corner where it was spotted and there were the street signs. One of the streets ran right down the right side of my house. There are some knobs (we call them) not too far from here and I guess they come down for water and food.

I just thought to myself bears like the water and wouldn’t it have been awful if it decided to get in my pool. Or if I had walked out onto the carport and it would have come around the corner. It was strange because there are quite a few houses in this area....my house is private but
not desolate at all. The adventures of jaycee and yorkie!!
