got home late & will check & see if my first attempt at DVR worked.

I went to the thread about the show & note that it was posted on YouTube so will watch that also, must get it on lap top where I have speakers — removed them from my HP tower which I am on now.

Went to a wonderful wine/dinner cooking demonstration last night. Will be getting the pix up on Picasa later. Brought meats home for my mom, ate the sides & enjoyed the four courses of wine.. There were about 40 there watching Chef Marc do his thing.

trip to my chiropractor was great. My chiropractor who moved back to his home in NY in November was there filling in for the owner who is on a cruise. I took a hor dor plate..for the staff, which they appreciated.

I hope to get to DC in Sept. I have it on calendar. Lately I have a hard time planning for one day ahead yet alone 3 month.

Two poems to share, since I couldn’t get on yesterday.
Going to be sipping a couple of those Mango Margaritas later this afternoon as we barbecue down at the lake. (No jobs doesn’t have to mean no fun!)

Dream Farm

Bracketed by night’s scattered star strewn space
the full faced moon gleams with soft slivered light
Seeding such dreams to delight our own inner sight
the mind’s gift to the more thoughtful of the race

Gossamer webs of interconnected memories blend
making connections as yet unguessable or clear
Mystery mixed with Magic, a blend so very dear
and we watch such dreams to harvest and to tend

Across the web of galactic possibilities to our dreams
we create the landscape of adventures yet to unfold
Be it action dreams of youth, or the memories of the old
the trip will surprise us and lead us on new paths it seems

Along The Road To Journey’s End

Burn the dreams of those yesterdays
upon the sooted grate of hard reality
And warm you with the truth you see
that ordained the price we must pay

Another form to shrug off time’s flow
and another reality to enfold the self
As among the stars to find yourself
and so the cycle you were set to go

Enduring is our lot as ordained by One
the wearing path to test our faith there
to find the way among the traps so fair
and one day to see the face of the Son

Passionate Boldness
When they saw the boldness of Peter and John, . . . they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. —Acts 4:13

A young man was preaching to the passersby in Hounslow, on the outskirts of London, England. Most ignored him, a few ridiculed, and several stopped to listen. But regardless of the reaction of the people, he was undeterred. With a strong voice and clear resolve, he poured out his heart—not with the words of an angry prophet, but with deep concern for the men and women on that street. His eyes, facial expressions, and tone of voice revealed an attitude of compassion, not condemnation. In it all, he boldly shared the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

In Acts 4, when the church was still new, Peter and John also boldly addressed the people of their generation. The response of the leaders of their day? “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus” (v.13). That boldness was not the fruit of ministerial training but of much time spent in the presence of the Master. As a result, they had become passionate about what concerned Christ—the eternal destiny of men and women.

That same passionate boldness was on the face of the young man in Hounslow. Do people see it in us?

Will you be bold in your witness
By giving lost sinners God’s Word?
Jesus will honor your service,
And sinners will surely be stirred. —Bosch

THE OLD SWIMMIN’-HOLE

by: James Whitcomb Riley (1849-1916)

H! the old swimmin’-hole! whare the crick so still and deep
Looked like a baby-river that was laying half asleep,
And the gurgle of the worter round the drift jest below
Sounded like the laugh of something we onc’t ust to know
Before we could remember anything but the eyes
Of the angels lookin’ out as we left Paradise;
But the merry days of youth is beyond our controle,
And it's hard to part ferever with the old swimmin’-hole.

Oh! the old swimmin’-hole! In the happy days of yore,
When I ust to lean above it on the old sickamore,
Oh! it showed me a face in its warm sunny tide
That gazed back at me so gay and glorified,
It made me love myself, as I leaped to caress
My shadder smilin’ up at me with sich tenderness.
But them days is past and gone, and old Time's tuck his toll
From the old man come back to the old swimmin’-hole.

Oh! the old swimmin’-hole! In the long, lazy days
When the humdrum of school made so many run-a-ways,
How plesant was the jurney down the old dusty lane,
Whare the tracks of our bare feet was all printed so plane
You could tell by the dent of the heel and the sole
They was lots o’ fun on hands at the old swimmin’-hole.
But the lost joys is past! Let your tears in sorrow roll
Like the rain that ust to dapple up the old swimmin’-hole.

Thare the bullrushes growed, and the cattails so tall,
And the sunshine and shadder fell over it all;
And it mottled the worter with amber and gold
Tel the glad lilies rocked in the ripples that rolled;
And the snake-feeder’s four gauzy wings fluttered by
Like the ghost of a daisy dropped out of the sky,
Or a wownded apple-blossom in the breeze's controle
As it cut acrost some orchard to’rds the old swimmin’-hole.

Oh! the old swimmin’-hole! When I last saw the place,
The scenes was all changed, like the change in my face;
The bridge of the railroad now crosses the spot
Whare the old divin’-log lays sunk and fergot.
And I stray down the banks whare the trees ust to be—
But never again will theyr shade shelter me!
And I wish in my sorrow I could strip to the soul,
And dive off in my grave like the old swimmin’-hole
