Wonderful, Thank you. My 73 year old mom comes over and loves these types of YouTubes. In the ‘50-60’s her and my dad were too poor to own a TV, so these are all new to her.....LOL. Guess that’s why I never got any cool Mattel toys....;(

Yeah. Back in the days when the Beverly Hillbillies and the Flintstones had cigarette commercials.

I wonder how much more of a nanny state we're going to become.

It’s a surprise to see Jackie Gleason playing Riley. I didn’t know anyone other than William Bendix had played the role.

Also a few I remember from the 70’s, knowing they’re in PC jail forever. I present more or less in the order of how politically incorrect they are:

- the Frito Bandito openly admitting he’ll steal your Fritos

- “My wife. I think I’ll keep her.” (Geritol?)

- “Ancient Chinese secret, huh!”

- “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t...”

- Charles Nelson Riley singing about the “bright and GAAAAAY!” colors of the Bic Banana Ink Crayons

- and almost any airline commercial from the 60’s or 70’s: http://www.travelandleisure.com/articles/funny-vintage-airline-commercials

sure did! ‘army’ everyday after school with some serious looking replica weapons, hell SWAT would be called out within minutes if my old gang were to go into ‘battle’ in today’s world.

actually my grandpa gave me an old win. .22 semi auto rifle when I was 7 years old to start off. of course I could only fire that under supervision but I did get a BB gun when I was 8 and since our basement at that time was huge and unfinished I convinced (or I THOUGHT I did!)the old man to set up a BB gun range down there. probably only a 40 ft. distance at the greatest but when your a kid that is 400 ft. the entire backdrop was old blankets that funneled the shot BB’s into a group to be shot over and over at all kinds of various targets. hell, half the neighborhood was over sometimes and always the ‘army’ gang. when we got bored indoors it was off to the nearby woods for BB gun ‘hunting’! I really feel sorry for the kids growing up today. my folks are both in their 80’s now and I still don’t get tired of thanking them for the wonderful childhood they provided me. I was (and am) so lucky.
