Chrysler Conservatives Axed - Only Blogs Investigate
Newsbusters.org ^ | 5-28-09 | Mike Sargent

The blogosphere has, once again, proven itself a worthy investigator. Unsurprisingly, that same investigatory spirit is nearly nonexistent in the mainstream media.

This morning on Fox and Friends, Michelle Malkin gave an interview on a story that she and HotAir have been following for several days (video embedded to the right). Apparently, many of the Chrysler dealers that have been chosen for closing have made a habit of donating money to Republicans, or nobody at all – and those who donate to Democrats are miraculously safe.

Why is it miraculous?

Its Miraculous since everything the messiah touches, fails. These Repubs will be thanking him in 6 mos after he destroys Chrysler.

Pray for America

I posted before that this did not seem very surprising at all.

From what we’ve posted here on Free Republic, we know that it’s GOP principles that will be able to run businesses properly and if there were any Democrats running those car dealer businesses, and using their Democrat principles to do so, they would be bankrupt in short order — so — that leaves only GOP business owners.

It should be clear that there are no Democrat dealers left to donate ... LOL...

I demand again — where the HELL are the leaders of the Republican Party on Capitol Hill regarding this issue which, if established, a child would realize is a threat to democracy? Why aren’t their staffs looking into this 24 hours a day and raising cain about it? I feel we have no one who represents us, only talk show hosts like Limbaugh, Levin and Savage and a former Vice President named Cheney. Remember all the screaming the Washington Post and its allies did about Nixon’s purported “abuse of power” which was an impeachable offense? Quiet as church mice now, aren’t they?

Findings from 538.com breaks down some of the data on all car dealers.
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/05/news-flash-car-dealers-are-republicans.html

Overall, 88 percent of the contributions from car dealers went to Republican candidates and just 12 percent to Democratic candidates. By comparison, the list of dealers on Doug Ross’s list gave 92 percent of their money to Republicans.

Yep! And by the time election 2010 comes around unemployment will probably be 12% or more and the budget deficit under Obama totaling more than $4 trillion. If the Republicans cannot beat the Democrats with that... then I am at a loss for words.

The last complete budget cycle for the Republican Congress was fiscal 2007 (oct 2006 - sept 2007) and that had a "measly" $160 billion deficit.

Right. The Repubs would have to own the House for that to happen.

It should be, but the zero could murder a baby on the House floor and not be removed.

FiveThirtyEight is a moonbat site. Can’t say that I’d trust their numbers.

That’s not what the article says. It says the owners who donated mostly to Rats are safe.

It’s easy to find grounds for impeachment. What’s difficult is finding a Congress that will do it.

A listing of contributions from Chrysler Dealers is at www.scribd.com/doc/15760333/Chrysler-Report. It would be interesting to check this against the list of closures.

“I feel we have no one who represents us, only talk show hosts like Limbaugh, Levin and Savage and a former Vice President named Cheney.”

Echoed here. One thing you might consider...like the birth cert controversy, this is untouchable in the sense that until it is rock-solid proven, Rush & Mark & Sean must be VERY careful to jump on these types of things and resist the “first to air” temptation lest their credibility be destroyed. I am not talking about walking on eggshells, I am talking about being double-triple-quadruple sure of the hard-ass facts. We know that, odious though they may be, no single one of these things can act as a rock wall against further “progress” by the 0bama admin. In other words, and you might disagree, it is better IMO to have these allegations thoroughly vetted and verified before they are jumped on. I know many may well claim that the birth cert deal might have rendered 0bama ineligible and prevented him from taking office. Valid point. But that was litigated pretty aggressively, IMO, and went essentially nowhere, even though it’s not settled with pretty much anyone on this forum. Rev Wright could be attacked because his screed was on tape, in undeniable context. IMO the Chrysler dealership issue, can be afforded some time to be allowed to ripen. Believe me, I find it as rotten as you probably do.

Google News is up to its old tricks on this story. At lunch today (ET) I searched Google News for “dealergate scandal” and got several pages of hits. Now Soros-funded Media Matters has weighed in with a “debunking” of this story, and it has driven all the other hits off. Search Google News now and you get only the Media Matters “debunking”.

Between the kool-aid drinkers and the new citizens who will be given the vote between now and 2012, and the imaginary people ACORN will register to vote, I think Obama will have the advantage in 2012. If the Republicans finally start getting their act together, we’ll probably see dirty tricks that will make Watergate look like a Sunday school picnic. It probably won’t be too hard to encourage divisions among Republicans so that they won’t give full and enthusiastic support to the nominee.
