OHP Trooper Scuffle Caught On Videotape (Police Vs Paramedics)

BOLEY, OK -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers get into a fight with a paramedic and it is all caught on videotape.

The incident happened near Boley in Okfuskee County.

In the video, you see OHP troopers pushing the paramedic and grabbing his neck.

The fight happened during an emergency call when a patient waiting to be taken to the local hospital was in the back of the ambulance.

Officials say OHP troopers became upset after the paramedic failed to yield while the troopers were rushing to a call of their own.

The troopers claim the paramedic assaulted one of them before the camera started rolling.

The video was shot by the patient's son. He says he continually asked the troopers to stop, so his mom could be taken to the hospital.

"We're like telling this dude. 'Man, my mom is in the back.' My step-dad was like 'man my wife is in the back, can we do this at the hospital,'" said Kenyada Davis.

The patient was finally taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol won't comment on the video while it's being reviewed by Okfuskee County prosecutors.

This may or may not be related, but I bet if you forced police to take steroid tests (which are seldom ever screened for in standard urine analysis tests), I bet a surprising percentage would fail.

And, it's only a hypothesis, but I wager that "roid rage" accounts for at least some of the police brutality claims that are seen from time to time.

Diversity allows one to say and do all they want toward LE and then whip out the race card. Yes, the officer could have been cooler but a ratchet mouthed diverse individual sometimes is more than one can handle.

Hm, seems like a clear case of assault to me.

Does it seem like the government’s enforcers (police) are acting a little more... aggressively, this year?

What, if any, is the link to politics and who is in office?

If Black males didn't commit almost half of all crimes in this country, I expect many times, they would be given the benefit of the doubt and have less LE problems such as this one.

I always try to be armed around Black males because of their high crime rates.

Not unlike what would result if you compelled any public sector employee to take an IQ test...

The most likely outcome is they’ll arrest the kid for making the video tape.

So a few harsh words make it ok for the police to assault a person? If cops dont have more self control than that they should be fired and certainly shouldnt have guns.

Maybe that black paramedic should have shuffled around, stared down at his feet and said "Sho nuff offasuh, suh, I'm powerful saw-ree 'bout cuttin' yo polease cah awf wid my ambleance."

He probably would've avoided an unnecessary and illegal beating at the hands a some @$$-hole LEOs....

Apparently this was a traffic stop. They pulled over the ambulance, that was on an emergency run with a patient in the back because it did not yield to the police cars on a call. I don’t know which law supersedes, but to pull over an EMT on a something like this... That EMT might be clearing your airway tomorrow after the Cop has a traffic accident or worse gets shot or something. It sure seems that the traffic stop was unnecessary. What happened to the call the Trooper was going on that was so important? I just don’t get why we empower government employees to be thuggish and brutal. The next story at the site was that the Tulsa Police were planning one of those huge traffic blitzes to calm down bad drivers. “Warning books put in the trunk” and drivers license checkpoints. Why do “you people” want this? Policeman per 1000 in this country is 2.77.

Interesting hypothesis! I would be interested in seeing it tested but would not hold my breath until it is, for all sorts of reasons.

His point is more cops = less freedom.

Another isolated incident, no doubt.

Two of my friends are 5 and 10K runners. They competed in the run that Mobile had a few years back and both were mugged going back to their cars by diverse individuals. Words gotten out and most runners from this part of the State will not participate in Mobile's runs because of the danger. Liberal diverse sympathizers won't grapple with the reality of what it is to live in a diverse environment.

Even comedians, Chris Rock for one, know to keep themselves respectful and their mouths shut when confronted with police officers;whether they are black, white or titty pink. This ratchet mouthed diversity product more than likely ragged it on knowing he was being videotaped and with the prevailing mindset of the Rodney King supporters acted the same. Again, we get to see the end of the incident when the LE loses it.

We control our government. If people demand a lot of cops and are willing to pay for it... We get a lot of cops. If people would be unwilling to pay for lots of cops we wouldn’t have a lot of cops... Pretty simple formula. We live in a quasi police state where armed government employees are plentiful, aggressive, and always ready to correct bad behavior. We live in that environment because that’s what the people want. If you don’t want to live a life being surveillance by armed government employees join me in voting down every police bond issue. Don’t call city hall and demand more police. Police are human. Humans are very very fallible. To empower another human to govern your affairs is a really chancy thing. Be wary of it. Power voluntarily given up to somebody else will never be voluntarily returned.
