Dolla, a rapper whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head as he and several other people stood near the center's La Cienega Boulevard entrance, according to police, witnesses and Dolla's publicist, Sue Vannasing. A friend of the rapper's who was at the Beverly Center and a Los Angeles Police Department official also confirmed the victim's identity to The Times.
Burton, 21, arrived at LAX from Atlanta earlier in the day and went to the Beverly Center to shop, Vannasing said. After the shooting, Burton was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center a few blocks from the mall, where he died, police said.
The LAPD has not announced a motive for the attack or identified any suspects. Detectives are questioning a woman they detained at the scene and a man who allegedly drove from the mall to LAX in a rented silver Mercedes SUV.
About an hour after the shooting, the LAPD issued a bulletin for a 20-year-old man considered a "person of interest" in the shooting. Los Angeles Airport Police officers spotted a man fitting the description in the ticketing lobby of Terminal 1.

...a dolla just won’t get ya nuthin anymore....
Obama's fault. The oceans were supposed to stop rising, remember?
(This is the fault of the Rev. Wrights of the world who preach HATE and alienation, instead of intact families and self-reliance).
Cheers!
Amen brother!! Well said. Crossed over to the dark side have they. Many of these ‘rappers’ contribute absolutely nothing positive or worthwhile to society but instead offer us the worst of human nature and help in the ongoing dumbing down and demise of our society. The same can be said for many of their fans.
Pray tell, what cruel twist of fate has led you to interface with these vermin?
He’s got a filled teardrop tattoo. That can symbolize a successful murder by the wearer. Not something you want running around your church group.
I’m sure his eulogy will contain how good of a person he was who just wanted to help people in the community. How he’s in heaven right now, looking down, wishing he had more time to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.
Well, his album is guaranteed platinum now. Too bad he’ll never see a penny.
Dog bites Dollah. Nothing to see here that we don’t see alla time.
First the duck rescue, now this.
What a way to start the day.
I sold my company in 2005 when RDT&E money vanished paying for the war and I had found someone who thought they could make a go of it. About the same time my wife started having severe mental issues and so I needed something to do at night rather than try to be in bed with her so I started working as a night manager at a large food/deli store. I do not see the Hollywood rappers but about 80% of my clientele are minorities who wander the night getting into trouble, doing dope, and trying to find ways to either steal from my store or hassle any woman who happens to walk in. I put up with none of their bullS**t and they behave, somewhat, when I am around. They still try to steal from me but the local Deputies are great and help me out a lot. They have the tats, the bling, the gold printed t-shirts with pictures of money or rappers and sometimes Obambi. They wander our area with no purpose and from what I hear them saying most of them have spent most of their young adulthood in jail or on probation. They smoke dope, deal dope, and try to get into the panties of any female that will have them. They have no morals and no signs of any type of humanity. I keep prepared just in case one of them thinks he can actually try something on me. At least I am out of the house at night and I do enjoy my semi-retirement.
Here’s one of his tamer lyric verses, which is apropos to the occasion. Guess he wasn’t “pulling on those hoes” yesterday at the Beverly mall. Poor boy.
No matter how ya look at it bet I can do it better. no need for lookin better like a glass of armmeretter. got a lil vendetta then bring out
The heavy metel
Pull up on that trigger like I’m pulling on these hoes
What other cultures and countries would you want to like us? France? Britain? Mexico? Cuba? Syria? Eqypt?
RIP.
I wish I knew what you were talking about.
I heard this guy was twice as good as Fifty Cent.
>>>> What other cultures and countries would you want to like us? France? Britain? Mexico? Cuba? Syria? Eqypt? <<<<<<
It’s not a question of “like” and you should think seriously about what you’re saying.
Yes, I would like for all of those countries and many more to respect America as they once did.
Much of that respect has been undermined by the trash degenerate “cultural” output that’s been produced by Hollywood for the last two or three decades.
At the top of that list is rap.
I hadn’t heard of him from my kids. Perhaps he wasn’t the real thing.
Now he is, he has proven himself to be a real gansta, rather than someone faking it.
His career should do much better.
Could be, but he's only half as good as this guy:
Two-Dolla Bill, y'all...holla holla
“Two bits, four bits, six bits a dolla!!”
You win.
