Can you do the Golf-Ping List or has something on this already been posted?

Where is home now?

Your homepage still shows you as a Floridian.

Did you move to a larger city than J'ville? :^)

I moved to a much smaller, slower, whiter beach area in NW FL! We love it!

I played this course about twenty-five years ago (back before frustration forced me to quit playing golf, though I still love the game) and I believe that this is the most beautiful course in the eastern US.

I know what you mean about smaller slower etc. Spent six weeks in Naples this winter, but it’s too crazily expensive. Do you know anything about Panama City? Destin?

My aunt and uncle had one of the first homes in Sawgrass back in the early 1980s (they moved away and have since moved back), I love it down there and I generally don’t like Florida. The tournament course is amazing and the views are spectacular.

We went out to the course this afternoon for the tribute to former President Bush (41). He received the TOUR's Lifetime Achievement Award. It was also a tribute to all military personnel and a recognition of the TOUR's Birdies For The Brave charity program. What a touching ceremony! The Navy Color Guard and Band were there. Sailors dressed in whites formed two lines down the 18th fairway. President Bush rode down the line in a golf cart. Sounds corny, but was beautiful! The anthem was played followed by a flyover of four fighter jets. Very moving! My favorite part was when the speaker thanked GHWB for all the he and all of his family have meant to this country! The soldiers cheered!

President Bush story:

Stewart Cink’s first President’s Cup. He had met President Bush previously, but briefly. Stewart and his wife were sitting at their table after dinner when former President Bush approached them, hand outstretched.

Before Stewart could say “Good evening, Mr. President”, good ole Papa Bush said to Stewart: “I don’t know if you remember me....” and re-introduced himself.

So cute.

Redneck Riviera?

Gotta love the panhandle beaches!

Sand as white and fine as powdered sugar. Crystal clear water.

Just add some Purple Jesus and beach music and you got a wonderful day at the beach.

I played this course about twenty-five years ago (back before frustration forced me to quit playing golf, though I still love the game) and I believe that this is the most beautiful course in the eastern US.

Years ago, USA Today had a "World's Worst Golfer" competition. They got entrants from all over with verifiable handicaps in the extreme high double digits that had been playing golf for over 10 years.

The event was pared down to a foursome of the "Worst of the Worst" and they played Sawgrass to determine the..uh...winner??

The "world's Worst Golfer shot somewhere around 290 for 18 holes. I'm not sure of the score, but it was pretty close to par for an entire PGA tournament.

I do remember reading that he put 17 balls into the water on the 17th. He then took a ball and his putter and went around via the path to the green. He even knocked one ball into the water on the path leading over to the green.

It gave me hope.

Thu & Fri on The Golf Channel from 1-7 PM then Sat & Sun on NBC 2-7 PM.

Interesting that they show almost as much of this tournament as they do the Majors.
