Confederate Memorial day goes on. The dispute began Thursday after Auburn City Councilman Arthur L. Dowdell removed a handful of Confederate flags from grave sites at the cemetery, saying they offended him and others and were reminders of racism.

Some things one never hears from the msm.
bump for future reading.
I suppose it be mean of me to hope one of the graves he desecrated was a black Confederate soldier's. Guess he conveniently forgot about them.
Slavery continues to exist, more than ever.
I saw a 60 Minutes segment on the company that makes most flags of the Army of Northern Virginia. It’s a Black owned company.
The removal of the Confederate Flags should be treated as a hate crime.
I like the way you think!
On that, we agree.
The man is offensive by being alive. He is a racist hate monger.
Councilman Arthur L. Dowdell is apparently a racist. One so severe in his beliefs that he feels this permits him to steal private property and desecrate graves at will and without repercuaaion.
Next time I see an Obama sticker on a car I’ll peel it off, they are offensive to me as it reminds me of Socialism and my famlily suffered in the Soviet Union.
He should be prosecuted for theft.
Or grave desecration, which ever carries the heavier penalty.
The man doesn’t know his own history.
It was probably the Luo Tribe (0bama’s own, now headed by his cousin 0dinga) who caught the Negros and sold them to the Yankee Clipper Captains to bring back to the USofA to be sold as slaves. And the flag on that Clipper? None other than the Stars and Stripes.
The Southern Flag (the Confederate Flag) NEVER EVER flew on a Slave Ship. If this Councilman wants to get huffy, he needs to read his history books (printed prior to 1950).
Dowdell is guilty of a hate crime, disturbing the graves of heroes, and being an all out j@ck@ss.
“I have read the Constitution front to back many times and I have yet to find the part that says Councilman Dowdell has a legal protection against being offended. They weren’t his flags, they weren’t his graves, it isn’t his cemetery. He should have kept his mitts to himself. “
Who are you and what have you done with Non-Sequitur? LOL
Yo Kozak—I like how you think. These idiots almost always forget that their little games can be turned back on them.
I’ve been tea bag bombing any car I see with an Obama bumper sticker. Haven’t got caught yet. I carry tea bags and a role of masking tape with me. I stick the tea bag right on the driver side windshield.
I’m a veteran and conservative so I guess I’m committing a terrorist act when I do that.

Not a terrorist, just an immature vandal.
I hear ya, my friend. But the fact is they were slaves. As such they had little or no right to express their own free will. In fact, they were treated by and large no differently than any other valuable farm animal. That is hardly an argument for overlooking the abomination of human slavery.
That cannot be rationalized or defended.
