In a discussion this morning with a cell biologist and medical doctor working at Johns Hopkins, my friend thought this 4-part flu combination is highly unusual and looks like it could be man-made. Especially because it has an avian strain. My doctor friend (he's Taiwanese) explained that in Asia, it's common for a avian-swine-human flu to happen naturally, but this virus first showed up in Mexico, where pigs and ducks are not usually raised together. Also, recombination of more than 2-different flu viruses is extremely rare. I'm just repeating what he said as an expert in the field. He says the CDC needs to explain if there is a possibility that we are under a bio-weapon attack. From CDC via Wikipedia: Anne Schuchat, director of CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, said that the American cases were found to be made up of genetic elements from four different flu viruses -- North American swine influenza, North American avian influenza, human influenza A virus subtype H1N1, and swine influenza virus typically found in Asia and Europe.
For two cases a complete genome sequence had been obtained. She said that the virus was resistant to amantadine and rimantadine, but susceptible to oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza).[22][23][24] Preliminary genetic characterization found that the hemagglutinin (HA) gene was similar to that of swine flu viruses present in U.S. pigs since 1999, but the neuraminidase (NA) and matrix protein (M) genes resembled versions present in European swine flu isolates. Viruses with this genetic makeup had not previously been found to be circulating in humans or pigs, but there is no formal national surveillance system to determine what viruses are circulating in pigs in the U.S.[25]
The seasonal influenza strain H1N1 vaccine is thought to be unlikely to provide protection.[26]

I thought the FR poster this morning was the person who was given the info??
That’s what I’m thinking, that’s what I’m fearing.
We have been warned for years that bio-warfare was coming.
"Obama has already played the "Population Reduction" card which was the first move in his presidency - to increase funding of abortions and population control abroad with U.S. tax dollars. Then they went after Rush Limbaugh. And now they are hyping the Right-Wing extremists panic again (since they did this in the 1990s when Clinton was president). Just as a rough guess, it seems likely they will go to the "Epidemic" card next, hyping some panic about Bird Flu, SARS, a new mutated form of AIDS or some as yet unknown virus which they will hype a panic about, claiming everyone needs some new vaccine. Or they could go back to the Rush Limbaugh card."

That's the way it was written. I've pinged the original poster. Either he's the blogger or the blogger stole the thread from FR or the original poster simply didn't post a link.
Thanks I’m going to post all updates I find over on the Threat Matrix thread.

Good thing Hillary's only Secretary of State, or they'd call it the Ft. Marcy flu..../sarc>
Cheers!
Flu thrives in cooler temperatures with low humidity. That is why we have outbreaks in winter which disappear after March. Warm, tropical climates do not have flu outbreaks even in winter.
Now this flu has begun in April in Mexico which is a warmer climate closer to the equator.
No, I'm sorry. Something is not right with this picture.
Stock up on vitamins and homeopathic flu remedies. Beware of any vaccines, especially from China or other third world countries.
This flu is not behaving like a normal flu outbreak.
Just one more reason why Global Warming is a good thing.
“He will give you money in exchage for preferred stock in your children and your 401K.”
Or... he’ll trade the antidote to you in exchange for all your money.
Actually I have the one produced in Israel
one other point I just thought of....
This flu is targeting the normally healthy age group. Regular flus take their toll on the young and elderly. The 25-45 age group are usually the most likely to survive, not die.
The normal scenario is completely inverted.
I think someone explained that some folks may have a little immunity over a certain age to some strains of flu. That’s why it seems to hit the younger under 40 group harder.
Isn't that because people aren't trapped inside sneezing on each other and breathing recirculating heated air?
yes, but this is an entirely new strain so no one has immunity and it wouldn’t explain a lower incidence in those under 25. The young and elderly are more susceptible due to weaker immune systems.
Another point to note is that large scale protests like the Tea Parties will be avoided out of fear or shut down by the government in the name of public safety.
That is certainly a factor for transmission but the recent thinking is that the flu virus stays alive longer in cooler climates. It literally hangs in the air due to favorable temps and low humidity. The warmth of the tropical climate kills the virus while the humidity prevents suspension in the air.
The virus has to stay alive long enough to transmit.
That is my rudimentary understanding outside of being an epidemiologist.
Thanks for the tip. I didn’t know about it until I found your post.
