They don’t believe that Republicans should have a say either. They are against Democracy. They are against elections. They are against an honest census.

They want power. By any excuse possible.

The narrative here is “stick it to da man”. No more, no less. Doesn’t really matter who “da man” is or what he did to deserve the sticking. There has been 200+ (or more) years of oppression of all the usual victim groups. Blacks, gays, women, hispanics, muslims, third worlders, eco-nut-cases, you friggin’ name it. And they’ve been oppressed lo all these years. Now it’s there turn to do the oppressin’. I don’t think it’s any deeper than that.

Nevermind that in “righting these wrongs” the economy will be wrecked, the social fabric will be torn apart, the geopolitical balance will be upset, all that is immaterial.

What matters now is stickin’ it to da man.

This where we have arrived. And millions upon millions are saying Hallelujah cheered on by the drive-bys.

Yes indeed. We - and they - will pay a terrible price for this.

But never underestimate the power of the lust for power. And then the exercise of that power. This the great motivator behind all of this century’s and the last one’s most monstrous crimes against humanity. There is an evil that desires precisely what Orwell wrote when O’Brien said to Smith, “If you want a vision of the future, it is a boot in a human face - forever.”

It’s an evil that has now gotten the upper hand here. You cannot negotiate with it, nor can you appease it. You can only kill it.

"The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act."

'Bout time Teddy got drafted.

But wouldn't such personal legislation be a "bill of attainder" forbidden by the Constitution?

I don’t want anything bad to happen to the senator but one quick observation. Why don’t these old geezers retire and let someone else take over when they are too old and sick to run a country? God help us.
