Does anyone know what's up with the actor/ role of "Zach Addy"?
I'm hoping that the reason they keep alternating his "replacements" is because they eventually are planning on bringing him back. Perhaps the actor has other obligations, and he is just on a personal hiatus from the show. But I've grown accustomed to his character, and I want to see him return...preferably sooner, rather than later...but this limbo has been going on for quite some time now, and if they are not going to bring him back, I'd prefer to see them properly replace him with a new consecutive character.

Zack will be returning on May 14. That's all it says.
Sadly, Zach has been abducted by aliens and now lives on the planet Zodar.
But I hear that Bill Bixby is going to replace him.
I think that what they did to Zack’s character on the show was disgraceful and seriously damaged the show for me. I watch the show on dvd only and have now seen the first four episodes of season 5 and can’t believe how bad the two-parter set in the UK was. Really, the show is getting ridiculous and I’m about to give up.
I have never seen an epidode of Bones, but I feel for you to lose a great character that you like. For example, it would kill me if one of the NCIS folks left....like when Kate left...UGH!!!! So because of that, I did some research and found this TVGuide interview with the actor of your favorite character.
TVGuide.com: OK, so I have to say this out loud. Zack is the Gormogon apprentice.
Millegan: Yup.
TVGuide.com: I’m still cringing. How far in advance did you know about it?
Millegan: Two months ago. They met with me and told me and I was like, “What? Zack eats people?” And they told me that I don’t eat people, I kill them — I never reached the eating stage. And I was like, “Oh, My god.” But I was kind of excited because I knew it was going to be an exciting send-off.
TVGuide.com: So you’re leaving the show?
Millegan: Yeah. But they said, “You know, you’re not going to get killed, so we’ll still have the option of bringing you back.” It was shocking, and I just had to follow it and know that this is what’s happening. Zack ends up carted away to a psychiatric facility, but there is the possibility that the others may come visit me.
TVGuide.com: So we might see you next season then?
Millegan: Well, I’m not a series regular anymore, but it’s possible that I’ll be back from time to time. I can’t say much more than that, unfortunately.
TVGuide.com: Was this all written for you because you wanted to leave the show, or are you simply following the fate of your character?
Millegan: Oh, I’m following the fate of my character. It wasn’t my choice — it was a creative decision to shake things up and make a good season finale.
TVGuide.com: So you only found out you were the apprentice after the strike?
Millegan: That’s right. About a couple weeks before we resumed shooting

Sometimes actors get too big for their britches.
I know. I remember what happened to the first actress to play the assistant on Monk. She asked for a big raise and WHACK she was gone.

According to Netflix the last disc in the Season 4 set actually contained the first four episodes of Season 5 and included the UK story. And you're right, the shark has been massively jumped. And don't get me started on the whole "Angela's love life" subplot.
Obviously dated, but fun to read, and know what happened after this interview, and have a little knowledge on what *will* be ahead to look forward to. As I am now looking forward to the season finale, to see how they will bring him back. If you are not a fan and follower, I thought I’d let you know, that while they did haul him away to a Psych Hospital, the fourth episode of the next season, he was back, giving aid on acase, left for him to study in the hospital, and in the climax of the show, he escapes ,and goes to the Jeffersonian to tell the others that he knew who commiotted the murdr. After the murderer is caught, Addy is returned to the hospital, but right before he enters the hospital, he confidesx to the psyciatrist who works wih tye team, that he actually had *not* killed the victim that he was put away for killing, and then swears the Psychiatrist to silence on his professional oath. So “Sweets” knows that “Zack” is innocent of murder, al while the reast of this last seasons shows had continued.
Oh, wait, you’re right, it’s season 4. Need more coffee STAT!

I miss Zach. I don’t know if they used the whole Garmagon (sp) to write him off, but I miss his character and hate all these swirly loos they are bringing in everyweek.
But since he practically destroyed his hands, I don’t know he can be very effective.
Very Very bad move on Bones writers IMO because they destroyed a great character, permanently.
And I am sick of this whole celibacy angle too. I don’t care about her sex life or how she needs it all the time. We get it, she’s a bohemian with a ZZ Top guy as her dad, but enough already!
However, I LOVED the part where she’s telling her dad “I hurt him too” and he says “Well then, HIS dad can come down here and kick YOUR ass, but I’m still kicking his” LOL!!
And then dumps in out (while passed out) in the desert with a tattoo of her on his arm of his daughter and “Angela forever”. LMAO!!! I could see my husband doing that.
