Because the medications I must use to treat my COPD now will cost me $600.00 a month at Walmart, I placed an order with a Canadian pharmacy, for equivalent medications, at about $200.00 a month.
All went well, but then I learned that my order may be held up, for up to 3 weeks, by U.S. Customs.
Maybe I should just start doseing myself with Mexican heroin, they let it in with no delay!
I try to take care of myself, I could go to the county and beg, but I'm not down that low yet, I'll tough it out!
Are you a veteran?
If so, check with your local VA. You may have to see one of their Doc’s at a local CBOC, but the meds are cheap.
Hi there Swampsniper - I wrote you a short message in your mailbox here at FreeRepublic.
Hope that’s ok. Trouble
I’m not a veteran.
Talk with your doctor and see if you can order enough for a month or two reserve. Keep ordering ahead of time to maintain the resrve.
I’m trying to convince friends and relatives who are dependant on lifesaving drugs to do the same thing. We live in an area subject to being cut off from supplies and electricity for months due to a massive subduction earth quake & tsunami.
I have but little choice, I need the meds to function, beyond staying in bed, hooked up to oxygen, and the only way to increase my income would be robbing banks. I don't want to become any more dependent than I already am, I just want access to some "free trade", and a chance to see competitive prices.
I may have to, but that doesn’t excuse U.S. Customs policy, or national policy. It was one of my gripes with the GOP, they listened to the money and ignored the people.
All of the drug ads currently seen on TV always include a statement at the end that says, to effect, “If you cannot afford this medication, contact (drug manufacturer).”
Have you tried that?
I don’t want to do that, I want to pay my way as long as I can.
