An Australian airliner was grounded after four baby pythons escaped from their container in the aircraft's hold. The snakes, just six inches long, were among 12 Stimson's pythons being flown from Alice Springs to Melbourne. At first it was thought the reptiles may have been eaten by the other snakes, but this was discounted after they were weighed on landing. Passengers were transferred to other aircraft. The jet was fumigated but the snakes' bodies are yet to be found.

"The jet was fumigated but the snakes' bodies are yet to be found." I once had a ball python about 3' in length that escaped from his aquarium, and despite an intensive search of the house and premises, was not found. A year or two later, when I was moving, I drained my water bed, and after removing the mattress found his dessicated body curled up around the heater...There had not been any apparent rot or decay, but near perfect mummification...

I wouldn't brag about a six inch python.
Kidding aside, in Indonesia, a 49 foot long, 983 pound creature was captured.
Pleasant nightmares!

Those figures were reported by some villagers, but I don't know if they were confirmed. Either way, if it's even close to that, that's one big-assed snake.
