We need suggestions for good solid rock n roll (preferrably American) songs to upload onto our sound system for the opening and ending of the Apr. 18 Bucks County Tea Party in Upper Makefield, Pennsylvania.
Steppenwolf's "Ride With Me" and "It's Never Too Late" are two good choices, but we need more.
Any help?
“The Taxman” - The Beatles
“We’re Not Gonna Take It” — Twisted Sister
“Won’t Get Fooled Again” — The Who
Oingo Boingo’s “Capitalism” !!
(I love this song! Danny Elfman had it nailed, even way back in the 80’s.)
Beat me to it!
Actually the Who song might be inappropriate for the protesters, who never were fooled about this president, but it’s appropriate for all the Obama voters who did get fooled. Plus it’s just a rockin’ song :)
Ah, good choice! I forgot about that one.
“Stuck in the Middle with You” has some good lyrics, although I don’t know if you’d want to portray yourselves as being “stuck” :-)
And you started off with nothing
And you’re proud that you’re a self-made man
And your friends they all come crawling
Slap you on the back and say
Please, please.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right...
“Ah, good choice! I forgot about that one.”
Yeah, who knew? But it should be a standard at these events.
Pink Floyd “Money”
Emerson Lake and Palmer “Paper Blood”
For some reggae flair, how about “Get Up, Stand Up” by Bob Marley
Taxman-Beatles
Free Bird-Skynyrd
Get off my cloud-Stones
Revolution-Beatles
I Feel Free-Cream
We’re not gonna take it-Twisted Sister
Fight for you right to party-Beastie Boys
Keep Yourself Alive-Queen
Freedom(Motherless Children)-Richie Havens
Things Goin On-Skynyrd
my original:
Tax Cheats
to the Left of me
Liars to the Right
here we are
Stuck with the TAXES
again
(liars can be changed to Rinos)
Another one is Taxman, Mr. Thief, by Cheap Trick.
“Feel Like A Number”
We are the Champions - Queen
Something we all would love.....”Easy Living” Uriah Heep.
“Takin it to the Streets” - Doobie Brothers
