Isnt it just a pain in the neck when theres an alternative media that prevents strict message control by a staged-photo-op of an administration and its willing mouthpieces in the MSM?
President Obama stands awkwardly in front of hand-selected US troopsIts painless for us, of course; rather, that pain is being felt in the necks of those who want to insist that a bow to a Saudi king isnt a bow, that an omnibus spending bill with 9,000 earmarks is the beginning of earmark and fiscal reform, that indecisively waiting four days while an American ships Captain is held hostage on a rubber raft by four Somali pirates (before being bailed out by swift action by the hostage and a SEAL team) is bold, new leadership and that a staged event with Obama voters only and a bunch of cameras handed out as props is a real sign of soldiers devotion to the new, inexperienced, non-military-friendly Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces....

Yep, impossible to deny. The black GIs seemed to base their vote on racism.

Just a word of advice: Being conservative INCLUDES asking “Sez who ?” when somebody makes a clearly political statement.
Sour grapes doesn’t cut it.
Those troops are happy because SOMEONE HAS TOLD THEM THEY WILL BE GOING HOME - and if you think that idea makes the troops unhappy..........you don’t know squat !!

The tip off that this was staged was all the cameras flashing looked identical. Seriously, Wag the the Dog?
forget the fact I didn't buy this PR stunt in the first place but don't be lazy next time get a variety of cameras.

I suspected this was the case the minute I saw the picture. These people have no class, as well as no shame.

Don’t you remember all the staged fainting women at the Obama rallies? Or how about tacking a rally onto a rock concert so it appears that crowd came solely to see Biggie 0. These occupants of the WH are not above doing anything to make “himself” look good.

Hmmm, I’m at Al Faw Palace, and I can assure everyone that the event was staged in that soldiers were asked to come. There was, I repreat, no prescreening. I voted for GW, and have no kind words for the current, but I cannot let reality be distorted.

...it ws my experience that if anything you could buy at the PX all sorts of cameras you could not get anywhere else.
That's true, but only for the PXs in the rear, as in Stateside, or Germany, or any other main area. For PXs in forward areas, the choices are much more limited. I speak from experience ;)

When I was a grunt back in the late 80s, early 90s, I had many conversations with the black guys in our company. Their world views ran the gamut from full patriot to "the CIA created AIDS to kill black people". I would imagine that it is not all that different now. For those "CIA created AIDS and black people can't be racist" guys, I would have no doubt that they would vote Obama out of pure racial politics. I wold also guess that some of the patriot guys might have voted Obama just to see a black man be president, and I suppose I can't blame them for that, so long as they don't make the same mistake twice.

I'm not so sure about that. I was in a situation where I wanted to go home very badly, but not before we accomplished what had to be done. Anybody who told me that they were sending me home with anything less than full success and "mission accomplished" would have been met with less than enthusiasm. Contrary to what the media tells you, some of us join up to serve our country.

ha ha ha, there's one white hand with a camera hanging off of it. The hand didn't even bother to use the camera, doesn't even look as if it was going to be used at all.
Nice to know the truth.
Originaly I thought it was strange that everyone had a camera with them. Thought it was a promo for a camera company "So dependable and popular, even the Military uses it overseas".
To: TruthHound
But black people by definition aren’t racists.
To: fr_freak
True enough but we are talking about REMF troops, aren’t we?
It is perhaps the natural instinct of all troops to buy and bring cameras where ever they go, and there can be one most logical possible reason why all of them are carrying the same sort of camera.
They were issued them.
You will not as well as absence of any other type of camera or even cell phone cameras, meaning the troops were not allowed to bring their own cameras to the event for security reasons.

Yes. I don't know what your experience has been, but in my experience, the REMFs are the only ones who get to go to PXs regularly. The grunts only get to visit when the job is done. So, the PX tends to be for the REMFs until the grunts get back from whatever hell Uncle Sam put them in.
It is perhaps the natural instinct of all troops to buy and bring cameras where ever they go, and there can be one most logical possible reason why all of them are carrying the same sort of camera.
There is no doubt that troops bring their own stuff, so if all of them have the same camera, it's most likely recently purchased from the PX. Now, whether they purchased it themselves, or it was issued, the cameras from the PX in a remote area like Iraq are going to be identical. So, the question is, did they buy it themselves, or were they handed cameras from a PR team who acquired them from the PX? My money is on the PR team, since most troops don't think of cameras until it is too late.

Another point on the cameras: Most times when you see random groups of ‘kids’ (anyone under 35) taking pictures, the vast majority use cell phones. There are no cell phone cameras in this photo, lending even more credibility to the story.

Look, I was going through some videos of Bush and the troops oddly enough in Iraq as well and there were more different cameras than at Best Buy especially cell phone cameras and video cameras.
Where are the cell phones and video cameras?
Again I say the most logical reason for one type of camera carried by all is that they were issued.
Of course this is by a president that doesn’t allow color guards to carry the flag into the building where he is at because they are armed....
