Good evening!
The hostage drama has ended well with the escape/rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips. Kudos to all involved, especially his brave crew, Capt. Phillips and the rescue forces.
Also please visit the fundraiser thread and contribute what you are able. Thanks!!
Good evening to you all.
Looks like Geraldo and Fox News are doing a special on the capture and release of Phillips. Run to your tv to catch Geraldo!!! LOL!
LOL......I don’t want to overburden Fox so I’ll leave Geraldo to y’all.
Thanks for the new week’s thread. It was just the greatest feeling to come home from a fantastic Easter family gathering (lots of eating and good cheer but no TV was turned on), fire up the computer and see that Captain Phillips is free! Myohmy!
It was great news!
Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host , of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed-and gazed-but little though
What wealth the show to me had brought
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills
And dances with the daffodils.
Hi Molly! Thanks for the new thread. I’m not up to watching Geraldo. I’d rather have a root canal.
Yes!!
I hope your Easter day went well. The people in my extended family are all so busy that holidays are the one time all four generations can get together. And it’s a lively, happy group. The host and hostess had a water heater death so they all took cold showers. What a hardy bunch.......lol!
Heros.
That they are.
Nothing wakes a body up like a cold shower!! That’s nice you were able to all get together.
I spent most of the day in the ER. Went to visit mom this morning after attending 7:30 Mass and found her wheezy. After calling this to the nurses attention, they gave her a breathing treatment, called an ambulance and she was transported to a nearby hospital. Found to have Congestive Heart Failure and pneumonia! What really scares me is the fact we were going to go out of town today. Had we, she might have been so far gone by the time someone finally got around to noticing... the one nurse actually told me (after I tracked her down) that she didn’t think mom was wheezy at all. I told her I had heard her, my husband and my son had heard her too!!! (sigh)
Dear Kassie, I am so sorry that your day went like that. It’s hard not to hear a wheezy condition, and she has pneumonia to add to it. Sounds like the nurse was covering up for her lack of looking in on your mom. It is wonderful that you are so faithful in checking up on her (and visiting). Added prayers for the two of you.
Oh, Kassie, I’m so sorry. Prayers are doubling for you all. PTL that you did get to your mom and have had it attended to. Prayers that she gets better soon.
((((Kassie))))
Yes, one week closer to the end of the reign of terror.
May God deliver us from this atrocity. Amen.
Thank you for the good words for me last evening, kassie. Sorry for your anguish with your Mom’s condition. Prayers for you and her.
There was a 4.7 earthquake on this island. It was between here and Mulia just at the foot of the mountains. I did not feel it.
Band practice tonight. BBL
Glad you didn’t feel it.
To tease you a bit and to be a bit technical and only because I have conducted it for a number of years ...
burden is really BURTHEN. I have no clue why it is that way in the music but there you have it.
Since we’ve gotten on to Speedy and therefore I can listen to streaming audio any time I wish, I’ve been listening to WMBW out of Chattanooga. There is a program late at night called “Sounds of Majesty.” Last night, the evening of Easter, SOM was playing the later pieces from the Messiah. What a glorious piece of music that is.
