Not that I would defend this stray dog of a man but why has no one on the thread mentioned the women who had unprotected sex with this man.
It takes two people to make a baby. This guy stayed around in these towns long enough to father multiple children. I would suspect that at least a couple of these women knew each other and knew that he had fathered unsupported children with other women.
My point is that the women had sex with this man having no reasonable expectation that he would ever support the child that they had together.
If you aren't married to the guy, you should be allowed to collect a penny.
If you subsidize unwed motherhood, you get more of it.

I think he ought to get a vasectomy as a condition of staying free. Mothers on welfare should show evidence that they are on birth control.
While I don’t condone what this man has done, it is foolish to jail him or even expect him to pay over $500,000 in child support. He will NEVER have it and to continue to expect fairy-tale cash is just stupid.
What we will have is either a slave for life or a permanent debt prisoner. These child-support decisions are just getting ridiculous. In the old days, a woman got a little extra, now she can get over 50% of a man’s weekly salary. How is he supposed to live?

I feel empathy for the children, but the mother’s are victims of their own lust, I have no empathy for them whatsoever.

The courts refuse to give men the right to give up a child (e.g. for adoption). This stacks the deck; a man can always be charged for child support, but can never give a child up.
In contrast, the courts always give a woman the right to give up a child (e.g. for adoption), and rarely (e.g. for rich white women) charge a woman for child support.
Right now this disparity gets almost no press coverage, but it is an injustice to everyone except the child, one presumes. However, keeping by force of the courts such a man in a child’s life may not exactly be peachy for the kid, either.
