Angels Starting Pitcher Killed After Ball Game
Posted Apr 9th 2009 10:49AM by TMZ Staff
TMZ has learned Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a felony hit-and-run car accident in Fullerton, California early this morning -- hours after he pitched in a game last night.
Cops say someone driving a minivan blew through a red light, causing the Mitsubishi that Adenhart was riding in to hit a light pole. Three people were killed in the crash, including Nick.
Cops say the person driving the van fled the scene -- but was later caught and charged with felony hit-and-run. The suspect is currently being treated for injuries in a local hospital.
We're told one of the other men killed in the crash was also affiliated with the Angels organization.
Nick was 22-years-old.
FYI -- Nick pitched his ass off last night, striking out 5 guys in 6 scoreless innings. His performance was hailed by sportswriters as a "brilliant effort by a 22-year-old right-hander making his fourth Major League start."
Story developing...
Stupidity is unbecoming.
..I watched him pitch last night on tv—life really is a vapor...
This is a thread for prayers and condolences. Those of you who wish to insult each other might want to take it outside. Thanks.
YOu are comparing appleas and oranges in your head on dash to throw mud on as many people as possible.
This invloved someone “Blasting” through a redlight in TRAFFIC (this is akey word digest if it is possible for you)— Let me repear just so it gets through the mush - IN TRAFFIC. It resulted in an accident involving multiple vehicles and causing three deaths.
IF you knew what you were talking about you would know that the cop who stopped Moats said there was NO TRAFFIC — Let that sink into the mush — NO TRAFFIC, and MOats slowed down and looked to make sure there was NO TRAFFIC.
Two totally different incidents with totally different circumstances, which anyone with any modicum of sense would understand.
But, please continue to rant and disparage good people, you do it so well.
Prayers to all the victims and their family, friends, teammates and fans.
Adenhart, another man and a woman were all killed, and another man was critically injured, in a three-vehicle crash blamed on a motorist who ran a red light at a Fullerton intersection, police said. Besides Adenhart, one of the other people who was also killed was also part of the Angels organization.
Authorities withheld the names of the dead for hours, pending family notification.
...or someone on their cell phone sending their tweets.
Well, as long as they weren’t texting...
No.
According to the Los Angeles Times, witnesses told the police that the drvier of a red minivan ran a red-light and hit a silver Mitsubishi carrying four passengers. Adenhart was among the four people in that Mitsubishi — two of them were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and one other died at a nearby hospital.
The minivan driver reportedly fled on foot, but was found about a mile away and taken into police custody on suspicion of hit-and-run.
Try doing a little research before chiming in....
OMG... how horrible. Prayers for Nick Adenhart’s family and friends and the others killed in this awful accident.
With all the different names and models for cars today, I don't know a Volkswagon from a beer truck any more.
Leni
I don’t believe the car was a convertible.
Rather, I believe fire rescue cut the roof away to facilitate extraction of the victims.
Here’s the difference between running a red light and blasting thru a red light at 80-90 mph!....I hope they hang the rat bastard!

Was the van stolen?
What a freaking waste. Prayers for the family.
The minivan’s driver fled the scene and was later arrested, Brower said. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, of Riverside will face charges of manslaughter, felony driving under the influence and hit-and-run...
