Welcome to the (I guess) official thread to the 73rd playing of the Masters Golf Tournament from the Augusta National Golf Club. Now the game that we love and it's season is now officially, let's see who will be walking the 18th fairway ready to slip the coveted green jacket on late Sunday afternoon.
We all know who's in the field. While I'm posting this thread early, we can discuss and predict who's going to win.

...play.....have dinner....play......sleep.....wake up next to Elin.....work out....play golf......
Watching the par 3 coverage live right now. Gary Player and Greg Norman have Hole in ones along with a couple others. That would be a gas to see live.
Not to pollute the Master's thread with talk of baseball or liberals, but I heard that The Swimmer drooled one off the mound at Fenway for opening day. Hope it curses the whole Red Sox season....
Is Jeev Singh V.J.’s son?
No problem!!!
Beisbol been very very good to us, especially when it involves misery for the Red Sox and Yankees.....
No relation...
I think Vijay’s son(I forget his name) is almost out of high school age....
Is a broadcast network carrying the weekend play? I’ll need to get my husband and son futzing with the antennas so we can see it!
“Singh” is the last name of *every* Punjabi Sikh or descendant of Punjabi Sikhs. It means “lion,” iirc. After generations in Fiji, Vijay Singh probably doesn’t know Sikh from a hole in the head, but the name places his way-back family origins.
I hope he does well this weekend: he’s my favorite pro golfer!
I think Cass is Vijay’s son’s name....
par 3 update.....If you have Tim Clark in your Masters pool as your winner, bad news my FRiends. With a -5 score(22)over the 9-hole layout, Tim Clark(South Africa)won today’s par 3 contest by 2 shots.
There were 3 holes in one during the contest.....
John Marrick on #2
GREG NORMAN on #6
Tim Clark on #9, probably gave him the winning margin.
A big star in my youth ...
It's not unusual for the older players to have a hot round, or even two, but they *very* rarely have staying power for a full four days.
On Saturday and Sunday CBS has the coverage....
3:30PM-7:00PM(EDT) on Saturday
2:00PM-7:00PM(EDT) on Sunday
Also remember the 15 minute highlight shows CBS shows tomorrow and Friday at 11:35PM(EDT)
Weather should not be an issue at all except a little rain on Friday.
I’ll tell you this though. If anyone has the staying power to try to make a run at this thing, don’t be suprised if Greg is in the mix late on Sunday afternoon.
I said this during the British Open and it bears repeating. I am convinced Greg is totally at peace with himself now(it doesn’t hurt to have Chris Evert as your confidant and best friend)and all the misfortune that hit him is a complete afterthought now.
That would be an interesting outcome. I guess he’s not *that* old, and if he’s on his game, he might do well.
I think Chrissie has been a very good influence on Greg Norman. After all, she’s won 14? Major Tennis Tournaments, and has a good experience, attitude towards athletics. I think Tennis and Golf has many things in common such as 1-1 sporting events, nobody to blame but yourself, requires major concentration, mis-hit balls in both games can be losing shots etc.
Inside of 12 hours before we get things going!!!!
Par Three Tourney Results....
http://www.masters.org/en_US/scores/par3contest.html
THREE Holes in One today!!!
Greg Norman, John Merrick and Tim Clark.
Tim Clark won today, history shows the Par three winner does NOT win the Master’s.
Greg Norman will have Chrissie caddying for him??? She did today, but not for the tourney I bet.
Yeah, she caddied for Greg for the par 3, but that was it.
I bet she’ll still take credit for picking the right club on the hole-in-one, though!!!
I’ll watch Live From later and get all the highlights.....
BULLETS 61
CAVS 78 4th qtr.....
Cubs 8-0 over Astros in the 3rd...ahhhh, Springtime!!
I was just thinking the same thing... as, I made that photo my desktop background for this weekend. Isn't that picture from a US Open, the year just after Hogan's accident? It is, simply, a fantastic photograph.
