Two stages of the rocket and its payload landed in the Pacific Ocean, a US military statement said.
Hours earlier North Korea claimed the satellite had successfully been put into orbit and was transmitting data.

PRAGUE Just hours after North Korea launched a long-range rocket, President Barack Obama called for “a world without nuclear weapons” and said the United States has a moral responsibility to lead the way, as the only nation ever to use them....

I suppose since the launch was a “failure” Obama won’t be under much pressure to do anything about it.

Odooma is a complete incompetent and an embarrassment to the citizens of America.
We are NOT World citizens. Our loyalty is to our nation first. My apologies are for those stupid Americans who voted for zero.

Hours earlier North Korea claimed the satellite had successfully been put into orbit and was transmitting data. It must be forbidden to say that North Korea was lying about it.
NK and Iran both know they can do whatever they want without consequences. These UN Security Council meetings must give them fits of laughter.

no you big goof. I meant I wonder if the U.S. has boats in the area. If this was a guise to test long range capability, then the payload is probably bogus. Be great to prove it.

The “fail” is a us cya to cover their own failure.
This missile was a success in terms of getting “up there” the communication satelite story was total BS.
Our enemies have been dividing up the work to do a nuke missile. N.Korea has the rocket, iran has the material, and the bomb tech is somewhere in the middle east.

That is what happens when you steal technology from NASA. It is like cheating off the dumbest kid in school.

"Our enemies have been dividing up the work to do a nuke missile. N.Korea has the rocket, Iran has the material, and the bomb tech is somewhere in the middle east." You're absolutely correct. The bomb tech will most likely come from Pakistan. Of course there are other enemies of America that could supply it.
