Cartoon strip aimed at under-12s depicts Christian boy as Islamaphobe thug
By JONATHAN PETRE 04th April 2009
A Government-funded charity was at the centre of a row last night after a magazine it publishes for children appeared to depict Christians as Islamaphobes who regard Muslims as terrorists.
In a cartoon strip, a boy wearing a large cross around his neck is shown telling a friend that a smiling Muslim girl in a veil looks like a terrorist.
He later confronts her and shouts: Hey, whatever your name is, what are you hiding under your turban?

...with all the ignorance out there, why don’t we egg it on by claiming that “Jesus died so we could fight vampires.” [/sarc]
It would make more sense than this does...

I agree with my man in the blue jumpsuit, who is standing up for what he believes in ... and he believes the young smiling lady in the hajib (or whatever its called) is a terrorist...Say, why is she smiling?? I say we waterboard her and find out...(they can put me in episode two of their comic book: 'El Cid visits Gitmo with his smiling friend in the hajib...')...

One, that’s not a veil.

There is something wrong with the Brits. The English have had lower-than-average educational attainment (lower literacyrates, high school graduation - you name it) than any other European country for hundreds of years. Maybe they have too much lead in their water. Whatever.
Only a people so debased and ignorant as the common man in England could put up with the utter silliness of the application of current British law.

“describing the cross as bling rather than a religious symbol.”
Either the woman who claimed this was lying to keep her position, or everyone involved with the production of this magazine was very, very stupid and assumed that the reader would be able to differentiate ‘wannabe gangsta type’ from ‘Christian’... now, if the kid had his hood up and a knockoff Burberry cap (standard thug uniform in the UK), the ‘bling’ excuse would have been believable.
