After the G20 wives wowed us with their style prowess yesterday, Michelle Obama and Sarah Brown appear to have stumbled in the glamour stakes with today's choice of clothing... Yesterday's dazzling J. Crew outfit may have won her praise from the hard-to-please fashion press - but the bizarre cardigan sported by Michelle Obama at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden today was rather less well-received. The First Lady kept her famous toned arms covered in the asymmetric creation by Japanese designer Junya Watanabe, which featured a garish argyle pattern and was embellished with yet more sequins. A far cry from her signature sleeveless shift dresses, Mrs Obama also wore a teal-coloured full-skirted prom dress by Jason Wu.

1. M. is totally pigeon-toed (if one has not noticed by now) and that is why she sways from right to left and left to right when she waddles.
2. Halloween is in October so why the costume now?
I didn’t notice the run in the stocking...It looks as though Michelle had to throw her clothing on in a hurry. Was Barry trying to cut a slice before this photo op? She looks like the morning after “walk of shame”.
There is no excuse for this look. BTW, it will draw a MSM pass. Nice going, ignore the OBvious!

She looks like she buys her clothes at the local thrift store and doesn't really care WHAT she looks like.

It must have taken Mrs. Brown at least 20 minutes squeeze, struggle, and wedge herself into that way-too-small suit. She can’t have not known. The only possible excuse for such an outfit is that she was being an EXCEPTIONALLY gracious hostess and trying desperately to make the awkwardly dressed Mrs. Obama look good.
Still, even if that was the intent (which I doubt), it was way overboard. There’s a point at which you’re insulting everyone else in attendance at a formal function, and appearing in something that looks like you got it at Goodwill 30 pounds ago reaches that point, especially when you obviously have an ample budget and staff to ensure that you have a properly fitting wardrobe at the ready. Seriously, she could easily pass for trailer-park trash “dressed up” to go to court to fight a drunk driving charge.
Those are green shoes. The kiss-ass liberals are not able to state “The king has no clothes”.
The press has their head so far up OBama’s ass that they can’t state the OBvious. FRAUDS! How do they sleep at night?
You really should have posted a warning before you posted this pix. However, viewing the person giving her advice on how to dress “appropriately” definitely explains A LOT about the stuff MO wears.

The white spots almost have to be buttons because if they are not and the bottommost buttonhole on the right is supposed to line up with the bottom black button (buttoned into the next to the bottom button right now),then there would be two empty buttonholes at the top. Can the “white” buttons be explained by shiny reflection? Or could the “bizarre” pattern included white buttons at top and bottom with black buttons in between?
The photo in # 102 makes it clear that the bottom button is in fact white. I don’t think she misbottoned the sweater.
LOL. My neighbor commented on Michelle’s attire at the dinner last night. He is no fashion king, by any means. As he said, it was embarrassing to see the First Lady wear a tank top to a dinner with all the G20 bigwhigs.
Re. the sweater today....it reaminded me of 50’s fashion, but really messy.
Ah-ha! Well now, that does explain things, doesn't it. Must say, IMO, that makes it even uglier having two different color buttons. Obviously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

And here’s the problem, this person in charge of Michelle’s fashion is a caucasian female!
The first issue is that she’s female - as one of my friends put it, “Gay men make the best designers, cause straight men are too hung up on what they’d like to see women wear (which is usually a whole lot less than most women would wear) and women are too hung up on the kinds of clothes they’d wear themselves to stop and think about what looks good on other women”. Then, her being caucasian only exacerbates the problem, cause her being ‘too hung up’ on what she would wear extends to colors, and colors that someone with her skin tone could wear are not the best colors for Michelle’s skin tone since they’re drastically different.
IMO, the solution to this is for Michelle to hire Tim Gunn as her personal fashion advisor. I bet, with a bit of work, he could make her look at least passable. Then, he should hold “How to dress when you’re a part of international politics” seminar as part of the next G-20 type meeting.
She really does not deserve the Jackie-esque compliments she is getting. In fact, Laura Bush and Nancy Reagan dressed better than Jackie.
