After the G20 wives wowed us with their style prowess yesterday, Michelle Obama and Sarah Brown appear to have stumbled in the glamour stakes with today's choice of clothing... Yesterday's dazzling J. Crew outfit may have won her praise from the hard-to-please fashion press - but the bizarre cardigan sported by Michelle Obama at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden today was rather less well-received. The First Lady kept her famous toned arms covered in the asymmetric creation by Japanese designer Junya Watanabe, which featured a garish argyle pattern and was embellished with yet more sequins. A far cry from her signature sleeveless shift dresses, Mrs Obama also wore a teal-coloured full-skirted prom dress by Jason Wu.

I think she buttoned that cardigan wrong. Look how it hangs lower on one side.

As passionfruit pointed out in another thread, Michelle's sweater is buttoned wrong and she has a run in her stocking (her left leg).
Tacky....just tacky. But apparently she fits right in over there. Doesn't anyone own a mirror or have any self respect to dress decent? And is Michelle color blind? That sweater SO does not go with that dress color-wise, let alone, just in general.

But then it would look worse, if that’s possible. That would make the shorter side even shorter.

No, I don’t think it’s misbuttoned. One buttonhole and one button are visible at the bottom. What makes it look misbuttoned is that her forearm is pulling the left side (as viewed by the onlooker) in, so that it seems like the left side is shorter than the right side. There was a different photo earlier in the thread that showed only Mrs. Obama in a torso shot, rather than full length. In that picture it seems fairly clear that she did not misbutton it.

Michelle always stands like she’s storing Barry’s basketball between her thighs.
To: Spunky
The earlier photo is at no. 35. Her forearm is positioned differently but it still looks like it or something is scrunching the whole left side compared to the whole right side, but the buttons do seem to line up. There’s one button and one buttonhole visible at the top, just like at the bottom.
Or else my eyes are worse than I thought they were.

Michelle's left shoe looks too big. You can make out her entire left heel and instep in that photo. I don't think she's wearing stockings either. Ouch.

Oh my stars and little fishes! Someone posted yesterday that they wondered if the First Frump was wearing increasingly inappropriate outfits as an inside joke to see how long it would take the fashion world to finally remark on it. Looks like the UK press may have noticed. Of all the weird outfits MO has been photographed wearing, imo this one wins the prize!

No, the sweater is not buttoned wrong. It's the stupid designer who made it asymmetrical. It's horrid and there is no other way to put it. I don't care how many liberals think it's beautiful. It's not!

ROFL! Rush Limbaugh is commenting on the air about this outfit now. That’s got to be a first.
