Geddy Lee and Neil Peart of Rush arrive at the Dreamworks' premiere of "I Love You, Man." And while Paul Rudd and Jason Segel may love the band, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame sure doesn't.
When the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame holds its annual induction ceremony April 4, there once again won

If all the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored was rock-n-roll acts, that would be one thing. But I guess they have to decide to keep SOMEBODY out, lest people figure out it ain’t really about rock-n-roll, anyway.
Probably the best band not in the R&R HOF. And certainly more deserving that some of the people/bands currently there.
Maybe because Rush is just plain LAME!
I know I am going to get a storm of “Well who do you like?” and then no matter who I say I like I will get the “They are more lame than Rush!”
Wow, Genesis isn’t in either? That’s a crock as well.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducts Run DMC, but rejects Rush, Yes, the Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, the Electric Light Orchestra, Genesis and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
Go figure.
"The Trees" There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the maples scream 'Oppression!' And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights 'The oaks are just too greedy We will make them give us light' Now there's no more oak oppression For they passed a noble law And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe and saw.
Criminal, that.
I was a huge Rush fan in the 70s, but they lost me after Farewell to Kings.
Their post-Kings output isn’t my cup of tea, but no one can deny that they are excellent musicians and a superb band creating some impressive and original music.
I don’t have any opionion on the R&R HOF, except that it seems kind of silly.
Neal Peart: the best drummer in all of music.
Incredibly talented trio, always evolving...
Geddy Lee should be recognized as the worst singer in the history of pop music.
Blasphemer!!!!!! Get the rocks. Lame?? Really??? Neil Peart is arguably one of the best drummers ever. Geddy Lee is an octopus as well as a fantastic bassist, and Alex Lifeson has always been under appreciated for his guitar work.
When they ask modern rock groups, who were your inspirations, Rush is always on the vast majority of lists. It is a travesty that they've been kept out of the hall of fame this long. Hell Madonna was inducted. Madonna???
Is King Crimson in?
Genesis isn’t in!?!?! They deserve a wing all to their own just for “Supper’s Ready”!
Didn't they dedicate one of their albums to Ayn Rand?
