West Haven (WTNH) - A West Haven cat remains stuck in a precarious place.
Tigger has been stuck high-up in a tree on Canton Street. His owner, Chris Green, told News Channel 8 the cat climbed up there on his own this past weekend and is now too scared to come down.
The cat is clinging to one of the huge tree's thinner branches, around 100 feet up, and all the while he's crying out, apparently frightened.
"I've been trying to shake food, get up on a ladder," said Green. "I called police, fire, the humane society. They said it got up, it will come down."
Cute kitty. If I want my cat to immediately appear, I open a can of salmon. Canned salmon might make the cat brave enough to come down.
Well, that’s good, at least. I hope this little one figures out how to back up or turn around and get home. I hate to hear of an animal in distress.
A water hose always works for me. Not being mean, I love Cats, too, I’m just saying...
We had a cat stuck waaaaay up the neighbors tree for four days. Until a neighbor boy decided to climb the tree to get him down. Boy got about 15 feet up, kitty started crawling toward him (cat was about 50 feet up).
Boy and cat lost their footing at the same time.
Boy hit the ground first! Cat hit thr ground second! Physics!
Cat stuck up a tree rescued Updated: Tuesday, 31 Mar 2009, 1:31 PM EDT Published : Tuesday, 31 Mar 2009, 1:21 PM EDT West Haven (WTNH) - A cat who got stuck high in the branches of a tree has his paws back on solid ground. A tree-trimming service came to the rescue We Have A Winner: Tuesday afternoon to bring the cat down safely. The cat, named Tigger, climbed up into the tree on his own this past weekend and then apparently got too scared to come down. The cat spent a couple of days clinging to thin branches of the tree around 100 feet off the ground.
Thanks for the happy ending update.
People think I’m lying when I tell them that my Great Dane chased a Mastiff up a tree once.
The Mastiff came into our yard and was growling at my Daughter. My Dane went THROUGH the screen door after him. The Mastiff took off, made a bounding leap, and hit the low branch of the tree next door. He pulled himself up onto it, and stayed till his Mommy came and coaxed him into jumping down.
That’s my story, and I’m stickin’ to it!
Rule # 1 in the dog world...Never mess with a Dog’s charge, no matter who, or what, you are.
Even for 100 feet up? LOL.
I have enjoyed this thread.
Glad Tigger is A-Okay.
There's a reason why you never see the remains of a dead cat up in a tree like this!
We used to have a cat who loved Cheerios and shkaing the box had the same effect. LOL
“I have enjoyed this thread.’
Me, too. Some of the posts were floor huggin’ hilarious. :O)
After that I wished my cat would climb a tree because that would be awesome!
We’ve had 4 Great Danes over the years. I can beleive that one would do that if one of it’s pack were beign threatened! I once had a strange man come to collect for the paper and made the mistake of trying to force his way into the house. My Tasha pushed me out of the way and let him know exactly what she thought of him. I think he made it to his car is about 10 seconds. I so wanted to open the door and let her out!
Our kitty can’t resist the feather on a string toy. We’ve gotten her off the roof a couple of times with that.
Have you ever seen or heard of anyone finding the bones of a cat in a tree?
Here’s how to get the cat out. Place a bowl of peas at the foot of the tree, when the cat gets hungrey and comes down to take a pea he will be free.
