“..I say you need show a paycheck with at least $1000 in taxes paid before you get to vote...”
I would simply add to that - one should be a “property owner” (definitions?) and be over the age of 25 years old.
The figures show that one of the biggest voting group for Obama is women. I’m sorry you deny the truth.
I mentioned that there should not be universal suffrage, but some sort of qualification, such as paying income taxes, and I was called an elitist snob by a conservative republican at work.
People have a hard time getting over the fallacy of equality.
Yes, and men are nothing but reason. :::cough, cough, testosterone, cough, cough:::
Aye, I've come to thinking along the same lines. Restrict the right to vote to 'heads of households' who are stakeholders in the community (ie., have lived there for some minimum length of time).
Then you've just taken away the rights from people in many major metropolitan areas such as New York City where renting is the norm. This also takes away the rights from those who are retired or in college and may rent.
...and be over the age of 25 years old.
..and this takes away the right of many of those serving in the armed forces who join at 18. If you bleed for this country or could be drafted to fight for her, you should have a vote.
70 percent of single women choose Obama.
"But at least 70 percent of unmarried women with and without children supported Obama, a margin of more than 2-to-1."
Ann Coulter said the same thing on a show one time, that she would give up her vote also to keep other women from voting.
I can't stand Obama, but I would not strip the right to vote from those who voted for someone I don't like. You obviously believe that should occur. And that is in direct contradiction with what the framers of the constitution envisioned.
I'm sorry you deny the truth.
How Dramatically Did Women's Suffrage Change the Size and Scope of Government?
Thanks for Communism in America. /sarcasm
Sorry, but voting is not a God-given right. Voting is a franchise, not a right. You have the God-given rights to life, liberty, and property ownership. Women have shown time and time again that, in general, they actively try to destroy those rights for others. They should be stopped to ensure liberty for all.
What would you prefer? Voting for the dictator of your choice, or living in a free country where you don’t get to vote, but you have real property rights and real liberty?
Yes you are suggesting communism when you support stripping the right to vote from those with whom you disagree politically. Shame on you.
By the way, I see a bit of that unreasonable testosterone aggression coming out in you. ;)
If you don’t like how a segment votes, you don’t strip away their rights, you educate them as to why they should vote differently.
Certain demographics not voting the way we want is a failure on OUR part, not a failure of that demographic.
It is easy to blame other groups, it is tough to look in the mirror.
