There must have been some magic in that shrunken head they found.
‘Cause when they placed it on the bed, it began to roll around..

Between the two of you, I suspect I’ll be dreaming that song all night long. Thanks a bunch.

Let's go with that. :)
It sounds better then the "I was very tired" excuse.

"... you mean like a TARDIS?" Just cleaning up loose ends ...
The notion of storage space that does not add the mass of things stored in it is different than a time machine, so no, NOT like a TARDIS. (Whatever that is.)
Another Heinlein connection; his extraordinary interdimensional transportation device in "The Number of the Beast" was named the "Gay Deceiver", and it had a door connecting it to the land of Oz.

Like Harry Potter’s Room of Necessity. It’s not there until you need it.

Remind me to introduce you to some DVDs of the Dr. Who series (both classic and new series) It's a British science fiction series that has been around since 1963, it was cancelled in about 1989 but brought back in 2005.
There have been at least 10 actors qho have played the Doctor in this series.
In response to your statement about interdementional transportation devices, I mentioned the Doctor's vehicle, which is a Time/Space ship as a possible example of such a device.
TARDIS is an anagram for Time And Relative Dimentions In Space. The interior exists in a dirrerent dimention than the exterior so it appears as if it is a small cramped space when on the inside it is spacious.
Get it?
