Eat fish, have painful sex? Thats what happened to six unlucky people in North Carolina who got food poisoning with a very rare side effect, the CDC reported Thursday in its weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report.
The six were guests at a dinner party in June 2007 where amberjack fish from a local fish market was served. The fish they ate had been caught in the Florida Keys. Like all predatory ocean-going fish in that region, amberjack can sometimes contain a naturally occurring toxin called ciguatera which comes from local algae and is bio-accumulated up the food chain.
Ciguatera fish poisoning causes nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps or diarrhea, along with neurological symptoms including fatigue, muscle pain, itching and tingling. It also causes some distinctive symptoms, with the best known being a reversal of hot and cold sensation, so people who have it perceive hot as cold and cold as hot. The symptoms can persist for months.
But the dinner guests in North Carolina had an even more surprising symptom, one only rarely described in the scientific literature. The two men and four women all reported painful sexual intercourse. For the men it took the form of painful ejaculation with sex. For at least one it lasted a full week. The women described a burning sensation during intercourse that lasted between five minutes and three hours afterward. Two of them reported that burning sensations with intercourse continued for a month.
ROTFLMAO
Do You think in the interest of Science, that the four men and two women picked up a couple of control women(didn’t consume the poisoned fish) and had sex with each other, each of the women with each of the men and vice versa to make sure the adverse effects were in fact caused by the consumption of the fish? Also, have the six ever gathered together for another “FISH” dinner with the said Chef?
WOW!!! THANK YOU! and so quickly!! How about another dozen?
Fish or No Fish, Pain or No Pain! ANN is just a absolute YES!! :-)

ROFL. Some things should be kept to the privacy of your bedroom.
Month-long intercourse will do that.
Trust me on this.

Is this fish also know as the “rock fish”. I remember as a kid getting a book on marine biolgy for Christmas which described the hot-cold cold-hot thing if you got stung by it.
