Unless the voting is over and it’s all busy signals now.

” Come on, people. Get past his appearance and admit Adam’s got a big, fabulous voice. Allison’s voice sounds like she’s grunting half the time.”

100% correct. Ask any of the others to sing that song, and the contest is over.

Love him, or hate him, this guy can sing with the best of them.

Have they been wrong lately?

Yes, and particularly with her. I think she brings in more text votes than the others and this messes DI up.

” Yeah..... Adam could rock this. This isn’t going so good...”

And that’s Adams dilemma. He can sing any song the others try, but they can’t match him.

In spite of that he’s called a screamer by some.

Well Danny tried to stretch his range on a “ controlled scream” and couldn’t handle it.

Adam would take that ending and several of the missed notes in the middle and slay it.........

” Paula’s Chihuahuas are about to escape the pen.”

Highlight of my reading this thread. I can’t stop laughing.

Please excuse the long-winded post, but I need to make some comments about tonight’s Le Pimpage De Adam and some peoples reactions to it.

First off, everyone can look back through the whole season and see that Adam has been at or near the top of my rankings every week. He has the best voice and best performance ability of all of the contestants, and has consistently been at the top.

However, to say that the judges overwrought Adam love affair tonight was anything but blatant unrelenting REACTION to last week is disengenuious. The judges statements and constant pimpage tonight had NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with Adam’s performance tonight at all. He could have bitten the head off a kitten and the judges would have kissed his tushy anyway.

Too say that the judges comments should be ignored and Adam should not be “punished” for them being over the top is also off base — thier comments may directly affect peoples reactions to the other contestants, so it is equally fair for the judges slurp slurping of Adam to affect him.

I don’t care how good he is or has been (and he was just OK tonight), he does not deserve to get any benefit at all from the blatant manipulation of the judges tonight. If the pimpage had stopped at his performance it would have been one thing, but to BELITTLE and HARASS the other contestants with “ADAM THIS ADAM THAT ADAM BLAH BLAH BLAH AND YOU SUCK!” was just too over the top, and for that reason Adam needs to get the boot - period!

For me tonight was about the end of American Idol - I truly think that between the Judges silly crap with Adam and the assinine duet thing that tonight was AI’s Jump the Shark moment. The day started off bad with Paula admitting she has basically been a junkie for 12 years, and then the malfunctions before the show look like they were an omen of what was too come.

I am going to finish out this season, but I am seriously having doubts about watching next year. the show has about run its course and is in danger of becoming a parody of itself. Plus, I think we will be seeing Simon abandon the rapidly sinking ship, and possibly Paula too.

It has been a great 8 year run, but for me American Idol died a little bit tonight.

Have to agree with you commish. SO nauseating to listen to the praise heaped upon Adam, who I thought butchered Whole Lotta Love. Allison was decent, Kris steady and I thought the truest to the original, and Danny was a mess. It was all out of pitch, and when Danny goes back and listens to it, he will understand how lucky he is if he isn’t voted off. I do not like Paula saying weeks ago that a Danny/Adam finale is in the works. Now they are desperately propping that up with blasting the other notables (Allison/Kris) that it is quickly becoming Fast forward the DVR time when the judges speak.

I definitely was an Adam and Allison rocking night. In that it was classic vinyl night, it was probably too easy for Adam and he stormed the Led Zeppelin classic. But I want to particularly make note of Allison, I was seeing Janis Joplin in her way before this night came, and then it fell into place. I disagree with some of what the judging made comment of – yes, there was probably a better Big Brother and the Holding Company rendition of Janis that would have made her stand out more, but man, I swear at one point I sort’a wanted to jump out of my seat and yell, “Janis!”. Like it was right on Janis Joplin.

But again, she is a 17 year old version of Janis as it is. I mean, bingo.

So I think, despite what the judges say, those old rockers out there are going to vote for Allison, and more than a few for Adam. So I guess it all comes down to how many old farts are still alive to vote. Rock on Adam and Allison, they were comfortable in the theme tonight, and they were spot on.

And to add to my praises, their combo was spectacular (Adam and Allison). Again, it was their sort of music, and they naturally took the night away from the other two.

By the way, the reason Adam is still there isn’t because of the judges ... someone telling me that they haven’t given Adam some bad reviews? Mostly positive, some bad. But positive because he is a natural talent - and I don’t give a damn what is orientation is. He’s a singer, a rocker, and he’s got “presentation”. He’s already a star.

Don’t be surprised if he wins it, in the end.

I was thinking Allison the Red Head would be next to go ... but now I am not sure. Danny is going to get a lot of votes from the public because he has a great personality.

But among rockers, rockers know who won tonight. Adam and Allison.

The theme will change the next round, and that will make a difference for the other two. They are all so great in what they are doing, it really breaks your heart to see any one of them go.

I’ve already decided who my pick is for the next American Idol.

It’s Adam.

Not that it will be what the public votes. I won’t surprise me if the vote for Danny in the end. Danny great. But Adam is greatness itself, I hope America can see and not lose this opportunity for this wonderful talent to “shine on” and cut those “cds” ... eye makeup and all.

Yep Daughtry was the winner of that season for sure regardless of the voteing.

I think Danny would have been better served by going the Creed, Alter Bridge, Nickleback, Tonic, Collective Soul, Stain route. He has the voice that could work well with those types of songs for Rock week.

Adam and Allison slayed the duet battle with Foghat’s “Slow Ride”.

Next question...Am I the only one voting for Kris?

Kris = B O R I N G

Plus, the Beatles suck!

Oh, and just to get your goat a little more :)... Kara is HOTTTTTT!!!!! And, she is definitely coming back next season! Woohoo! I love the way women looked in the 80s. I am sorry the style went away... Actually, that was the only decade in which I actually cared about the clothes I wore. I wanted to look like Sonny Crocket. heheheh

Here is my top 3. The new improved AI House Band No. 1. Adam vocal control amazing as always. He owns the notes. He and Allison 2 & 3. Allison great voice good tone for that song. Allison and Adam super duet together.

Bottom 2. Kris and Danny. Danny better in the duet but both he and Kris missed some really big moments in that song to shine. Kris better on the single but “Come Together” good guitar playing but very safe. Kris and Danny should have known that Adam and Allison would shine this week so they needed to stretch it out but they made bad song choices for Rock Week.

Slash was a great mentor this week. I hope he releases that version of Alice Cooper's “School's Out” he intro’d with.

By far the best Idol show I have ever seen. Really Great Music.
