Report: Bristol Palin and Fiancé Split
TODAY ^ | 03.11.09 | STAFF

The pair, parents to 2-month-old son Tripp, broke up 'a few weeks ago'

Bristol Palin and her fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up, two sources tell PEOPLE.

The split happened "a few weeks ago," according to a source close to the couple, but it's unclear what precipitated it. "It was a mutual thing," adds the source.

"It kind of just happened," says the source, referring to the split. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp."

Despite the breakup, Levi still sees the couple's son. Levi's dad, Keith Johnston, told PEOPLE recently that his son is a devoted and "proud father."

Bristol, meanwhile, is attending Wasilla High, taking a class to supplement course work she is completing at home. She also is considering enrolling in college next fall and studying nursing.

"If your teenage daughter had a baby, chose to remain unmarried yet keep the baby’s father in its life, and, after you telling her to put the baby up for adoption, decided she was going to be a mother to her child, would you disown her? Kick her out of your house? What would you do?"

She can do it because she knows she can ask Obama to tax you so that she can get welfare

Psychologising your interlocutor is just another form of ad hominem.

But thanks for playing.

Let the record show that you sunk to the level of Kos and name calling as you accused others of doing.

Right, well I will try again.
Bristol Palin and her circumstances
were thrust onto the world stage by
her mother's decision to seek the
vice-presidency.
Why is it so difficult for you to understand
this. They made this the public's business.
It is not “hate” to point this out.
The left endlessly uses the accusation
of “Hatred “ and “judgementalism” to shut
up any discussion of moral standards and
societal norms.
I think you know this.

>>What do we say about the importance of committed marriage, then, aren’t we really saying it’s really just an optional, “archaic (as I think some put it)” ritual?<<

Spot on.
The Palin child will turn out just fine, but what about the other children of single teenage mothers?

They will go to High School Daycare, see their “baby-daddy” whenever he sees fit and many will end up on the dole. We preach no pre-martial sex but then give the girls no real repercussions to having those babies. Grandparents (Lord Love them) cover it, or the state does.

Pro-life needs to be past the pregnancy. Lord Love every woman who does not abort her baby.

The right? She's her MOTHER. Would you rather have the government impose that 'right'?

YEs, a committed marriage between two people who understand what that means and are ready for it. These two aren't. So they should be void of their parental rights?

If she was a democrat this would ensure her Presidency, too bad she is conservative, cause’ conservatives have to be absolutely perfect.

But in this case it would seem BoL wants to look the other way, so discussions of social expression of disapproval of violation of important norms is to be suspended.

I’m still not sure we’re allowed to say that pre-marital sex is wrong, or that two vetted and committed parents are better than one teen-aged girl with a track record of bad decisions and self-deception.

And the fact is that Sarah Palin walked onto the world
stage and exposed Bristol as well as her grandchild
to the whirlwind that was assuredly going to occur.
Not sad for me- but for them.

as it was obvious that this would expose my already vulnerable daughter to intense scrutiny and predictable future pain

Should one judge another's life by one's own personal thoughts, actions and deeds/ life experiences so far? How can another know what another is thinking? What another is feeling, how another will respond. Ms. Palin, is not a shrinking violet. Sarah Palin has strenght of character. Children inherit the strenghts often from their parents. Might be also considered sexist to think Bristol has no mind of her own. Might be considered sexist that a woman aka mother would run for the highest office in the land. There is no real crystal ball or Weegie Board to predict our future or the future of another.

We just do the best that we can and try not to judge others (yes, we all fall into blame). But, we are only human.

>>The point is, *she* makes the decision and you stand with her and provide the love to the baby that a grandma should.<<

And if you look back at my posts, I never said the baby should be taken from Bristol. I said the baby should be given to an intact family.

It’s the mother’s decision. I never said otherwise. I’m saying that this is something that we should be encouraging. Instead, we encourage teen single motherhood, replace father responsibility with the government and give them High School Daycare.

If she had an abortion the left would call her a hypocrite.

If they had stayed together as planned the left still attacks her.

Now that they split up the left will rail again. Why even care about the leftist scum. No reasoning with those fools.

So, even though her entire family wanted her to do this, including a pregnant Bristol, its Sarah’s fault because the media (and some here) have chosen to keep focusing on this? Wow, you have really fallen into the hands of the MSM collective group think, haven’t you. Seems more likely that reality shattered your little glass house, yet you continue to throw stones at someone else.

You are right there.
I was reacting to the use
of a slang expression that is
commonly understood to be an
imitation of Marge’s brilliant
spouse.

The whole point of being a conservative is
that you actually stand for something.
That is the difference.

You said:

A father is VERY important. A married mother to the father is extremely important. If the mother can’t provide that, give the baby to a family that can.

That sounds pretty concrete to me.

I know what its like to want a child, to want to be a mother, but don't fault a single parent for wanting the same things you do.
