...oh, and before anyone says, yes I know she is from Brasil.
She was also a regular on Firefly.
Once a space babe, always a space babe.
Shiny......
Nice Firefly reference. Frankly, she could play a piece of toast on a plate and I would watch her.
She could be my “companion” EVERY DAY.
My fav is her character Inara in Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” the series and “Serenity” the movie. When she and the captain played by Nathan Fillion got together, sparks ignited. I thoroughly enjoyed the repartee between them. I loved the series and the movie. I hurt when Zoe lost Wash and Shepherd Book died a terrible death. Finally, Kaylee and Simon could view the reruns anytime again. Jayne the mercenary kept me laughing.
“Evil sometimes wears a pleasant face.” -B5 “The Long Dark”
Don’t tell me, let me guess...
Is this going to be like the new “Battlestar Galactica”?
Are the Aliens going to be the good guys?
Now, all we need is Nathan Fillion in Marc Singer’s old role, Jewel Staite in Faye Grant’s old role. . (grin)
Ah space nazis, I can dig it... but sci fi doesn’t do well on network tv.
Ironically, the character Adria was born and force-grown in an episode or two. "V" had the star-child do something similar, although that was involuntary.
This sounds like something from "The Day There Earth Stood Still" redux.
How many here remember the original series?
We have a curious current political aspect hanging over our heads of the use of propaganda and in V it was used quite well.
However the resistance movement was poorly executed, they had abysmal fall back plans and poor internal security. If by some unforeseen chance in heaven something like this was to actually happen let this not be an example of how to go about overthrowing a superior power.
They have some good moments but at a high cost of human lives and outright stupidity, read the books, I think this will be a flop in other ways than most movies.
Theoretically Hollywood could create a movie about resistance, uprising or even a remake of our fight for freedom from the British and what they will probably do is to try to make it into something that would be a subconscious way to make people think this is the right way,
NOT,
Movies like red Dawn, the Patriot did well, I would like to see REAL freedom type of movies in the future.
America needs it.
Good old Hollywood originality.
(its their second interview with Morena, the first one is here)
Date of publishing: 13th April 2007![]() Gilles Nuytens: In the first episodes you appear in SG-1, you wear yellow contact lenses, but you don't wear them anymore in the latest episodes, is there a specific reason for that? Gilles Nuytens: How aware are you of the fanbase? Do you sometimes look for feedback on internet? Gilles Nuytens: What was your favorite scene from SG-1 and why? Gilles Nuytens: There were rumours that Joss Whedon wanted you to play "Wonder Woman" in the feature movie he was originally going to produce. Would you have liked the opportunity to portray this character and what do you feel you would have brought to the character? Gilles Nuytens: In Dominion, Adria makes it to ascension, do you think that the ascension has made her lose the human part she has? I mean especially the love she has for her mother. Gilles Nuytens: I was quite surprised by the fate of Adria in Dominion and I think you didn't expect that either, so before reading the script, how did you imagine the fate of Adria? And what do you think of that unexpected turn for your character? Gilles Nuytens: What are your other projects, I mean current projects, upcoming projects, where and when can we expect to see you again on the screen? And can you speak about these projects? Gilles Nuytens: Do you ever feel a little unlucky to be a part of two very great shows (SG-1 and Firefly) for such a short period of time through no fault or choice of your own? Gilles Nuytens: Every actor I know that has played evil characters are quite happy and have a lot of fun playing their role, do you think that actors like to be able to cross to the forbidden behavior, do you think that it can be considered as some kind of bleed, psychologically speaking? Gilles Nuytens: I think everybody will agree that you are a very attractive woman, did you ever consider doing some modelling work? Gilles Nuytens: I know by personal experience that the people on the sets of Stargate are really nice, very welcoming, so can you speak about how they welcomed you, how was it to be a newcomer on a show that has existed for so long? Who was the most welcoming? Gilles Nuytens: If I am right, you didn't audition for Stargate, they offered you the role, so can you speak about how that happened? Gilles Nuytens: In 1 or 2 words, how would you describe your co-stars from Stargate? |
(sigh)
