U.S. Army To Buy $6 Million Of Riot Equipment (Obama plans to crush citizen protests this summer)
blacklistednews ^ | 2/25/09 | Watson

The U.S. Army is to invest $6 million in riot equipment, a fact that has furthered fears that troops will be used inside the U.S. in order to quell any civil unrest resulting from the ongoing economic crisis.

The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, has a post on the Federal Business Opportunities website, requesting the equipment and has received several notices of interest from potential vendors.

The request titled “84–RIOT EQUIPMENT” outlines the need for hard polyethylene Shin and Chest Guards, shock absorbing Forearm Protectors, Interior leg brace supports as well as knee and ankle protectors.

The ACA asks that the equipment be able to “safely withstand a substantial blow… from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris”.

The Solicitation also states:

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.

Interested vendors include Irish Brigade inc., manufacturers of hunting and safety gear with facilities located in the heart of Kansas City , Missouri. Federal and Military resource company MCLEARVISION, LLC is another interested party, as is Kentucky based U. S. CAVALRY STORE, INC.

In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential “summer of rage” across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.

Are such drills really for the purpose of preparing troops for foreign combat zones? Undoubtedly - but other factors indicate that the drills may very well also be aimed at preparing troops for dealing with mass civil unrest as the economic crisis worsens.

There’s no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.

Indeed, before a media exposé forced them into a denial, Northcom revealed that one of the duties of at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with “civil unrest and crowd control”.

The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional ‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States,” which could be provoked by “unforeseen economic collapse,” “purposeful domestic resistance,” “pervasive public health emergencies” or “loss of functioning political and legal order.” The “widespread civil violence,” the document said, “would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.”

Folks.....remember what happened about 2 days before the Tiananmen Square massacre. The ChiCom ordered a Chinese army division into the square but its general refused. He said he was not going to attack unarmed citzens. The ChiComs used another army with a more agreeable general.

It is very likely that our Army Generals will refuse also.

Keep in mind that Hussien’s army may have to go through a state’s national guard first. A governor could thwart Hussien’s bid for conflict by using the state’s national guard.

Yep, I am there. I am counting down to the 11th when I get my next paycheck and can put nearly all of my earnings into ammo and food. Will pay basic necessities and that is it. The rest is stockpiling.

Excuse me, but HOW does stating the FACT (which you have been busy denying for a half-dozen posts) that National Guard troops took guns from law abiding citizens in New Orleans, somehow lead to an assumptiojn on your part that I do not support our military?

I support the police AND the military. But when a few (or even MANY) of them STOP fulfilling their oath to support and defend the Constitution, then I stop supporting them, insofar as they have failed to fulfill said oath.

Only an idiot or a lunatic would support the people who are kicking in his door to take his guns.

It is very likely that our Army Generals will refuse also.

Or most of them will, anyway... I hope.

Wounded Knee was the US 7th Cavalry in 1890. 300 unarmed Lakota including women and children were massacred.

I don’t recall the NRA saying that refugees had no water.

...and there is a substantial amount of video evidence regarding the gun confiscations.

It is fact: Some National Guard troops illegally disarmed law-abiding citizens in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Under whose orders? I know not. Did SOME of them refuse to do it? I certainly hope so, but I haven’t seen/heard reported any incidences of troops refusing the order to violate thier oaths.

This has been pretty much debunked in many places fro some time now. Yes it is classified as "riot gear" but it is protective gear for the military staff at the United States Disciplinary Barracks at, anyone anyone, Fort Leavenworth KS which should not be confused with the with the United States Penitentiary at Leavenworth KS which is a few miles south. This is where the military sends it's really bad prisoners who are serving long terms (over 2 years if I recall properly) and where the military maintains its Death Row. It is staffed jointly by all the services. There's some *REALLY* scary plans being made right now but this isn't one of them. In fact, the publicity this and some other stuff are receiving lead me to suspect that it may be part of a greater plan to desensitize the population and distract them from the real serious stuff.

If I didn’t know you were joking, your comment would have been offensive. Using that standard, the same goes for Kent State. They were just a bunch of filthy hippies.

At 4:45 p.m., commanded by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, the 12th Infantry Regiment, Fort Howard, Maryland, and the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, supported by six battle tanks commanded by Maj. George S. Patton, Fort Myer, Virginia, formed in Pennsylvania Avenue while thousands of Civil Service employees left work to line the street and watch the U.S. Army attack its own veterans. The Bonus Marchers, believing the display was in their honour, cheered the troops until Maj. Patton charged the cavalry against them — an action which prompted the Civil Service employee spectators to yell, "Shame! Shame!"

That’s why Opie wants his 250,000 man political army. Imagine Acorn with Federal Badges and Big Guns.

Ghetto thugs can't even shoot straight.

Obozo had better recruit a lot more than 250,000 thugs if he expects to suppress the American people. Less than 10% of that number of straight-shooting, patriotic Americans will whip their butts any time they want to try it.

Wayne I think we’re almost in agree on the majority of the topic...

but as far as the gaurd goes...you made the statement that the national gaurd was taking guns...I found one instance...the same one the other guy refernces...one house and the okie gaurd..

Having allready witnessed the conspiracy industry switch gears from clinton to Bush in a heart beat...and now Obama...I’m more than a bit skeptical...

Alex jones sold stories of black helecopters, UN takeovers , and russian tanks in michigan when clinton was in office..

After 9/11 it was Bush and 9/11 was an inside job, president for life, endless war, concentration camps...

And now that obama is in office....Alex has a deal on some new stories for you....

BTW he also wrote a book about bigfoot, UFO’s, and atlantis...

The problem is that it was the ravings of conspiracy that drove McViegh and nichols (and perhaps others)to attack a federal building with a day care in it...

“This is routine in military procurement.”

That according to the article, goes to good American JOBS.

My first reaction was that $6 million is peanuts. I’d be curious to know how much of this kind of gear they normally buy.

Then a number of posters say that this is a kookie site.

So I wouldn’t put much credit on this until hearing a lot more.

LOL. 6 millions dollars worth? That amount of riot equipment would not stop a protest in Norway, Maine, population ~4600.

My brother is retired Sgt. Major U.S. army and he said he does not believe the army would not fire on the American people under any circumstances.

You are not required to follow an order that you know is unlawful.

Let's hope our troops know the Nuremberg Defense was declared void.
