The U.S. Army is to invest $6 million in riot equipment, a fact that has furthered fears that troops will be used inside the U.S. in order to quell any civil unrest resulting from the ongoing economic crisis.
The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, based at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, has a post on the Federal Business Opportunities website, requesting the equipment and has received several notices of interest from potential vendors.
The request titled 84RIOT EQUIPMENT outlines the need for hard polyethylene Shin and Chest Guards, shock absorbing Forearm Protectors, Interior leg brace supports as well as knee and ankle protectors.
The ACA asks that the equipment be able to safely withstand a substantial blow from non-ballistic weapons or flying debris.
The Solicitation also states:
The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 453998 with a small business size standard of $6M. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.
Interested vendors include Irish Brigade inc., manufacturers of hunting and safety gear with facilities located in the heart of Kansas City , Missouri. Federal and Military resource company MCLEARVISION, LLC is another interested party, as is Kentucky based U. S. CAVALRY STORE, INC.
In our article yesterday we highlighted the fact that Urban warfare training drills are taking place across the country as top analysts as well as officials predict a potential summer of rage across Europe and America as civil unrest from the economic fallout builds.
Are such drills really for the purpose of preparing troops for foreign combat zones? Undoubtedly - but other factors indicate that the drills may very well also be aimed at preparing troops for dealing with mass civil unrest as the economic crisis worsens.
Theres no question that U.S. authorities have been closely observing riots that have toppled governments in Iceland and Latvia and also threatened to do so in several other European countries. The fact that they have contingency plans in place to deal with such scenarios should they unfold in America cannot be disputed.
Indeed, before a media exposé forced them into a denial, Northcom revealed that one of the duties of at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with civil unrest and crowd control.
The U.S. Army War College in November released a white paper called Known Unknowns: Unconventional Strategic Shocks in Defense Strategy Development. The report warned that the military must be prepared for a violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States, which could be provoked by unforeseen economic collapse, purposeful domestic resistance, pervasive public health emergencies or loss of functioning political and legal order. The widespread civil violence, the document said, would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security.
To echo other posts on this thread — the military will follow orders, up to and including the use of deadly force if threatened in kind.
Gosh, are you suggesting that the facts were 'disappeared' after the fact?
Golly!
So....is terrorism the same as civil disturbance? I understand why the military could be used against terrorism, but would it be legal to use them against civil disturbance? Reference the days of riots in South Central Los Angeles and Detroit. The police responded. When it got out of control for them, they called in the National Guard which was under the control of the State Governors. Does not the Feds controlling the states in such matters, violate State rights?
Yes, I was confused by that too.
Does anyone here really think that our military would open fire on citizens just because Obama wants them too?
This is Hitler/Mao/Stalin type actions and I would pray our soldiers would disobey orders rather than kill Americans for being upset and rioting. And believe me, if it’s something bad enough for the military to be needed to handle, there would have to be a justifiable reason for our anger.
wonder what they are planning for this facility?
Answer: Above ground fuel storage tanks.......
Which is why the One would bring in foreign troops via his buds at the UN.
That how the Ruskies dealt with the Hungarian and Czech uprisings.
That’s the bad news.
The good news is that it will make them more easily identifiable targets.
I read about REX84 a few weeks ago, and now you tell me it was awarded??
People, it’s really time to start worrying. I mean WORRYING.
They are calling back the FEMA trailers too.
I am starting to get worried.
The Bonus Army ordeal is just one of many instances the military was used against US citizens.
Ecxellent observation.
#87.
55 sets of gear for Ft Leavenworth where the central military prison is located. Sounds like a reasonable acquisition to me.
What did China do?
The troops that crushed Tiananmen were drawn from areas with a large enough dialect difference from Beijing Mandarin that they may as well been foreigners as far as understanding what what the protesters were saying.
Suppose, just suppose, someone illegally divvied up the troops along, oh, I dunno, racial lines and used, say, just for the sake of argument, green troops on red rioters, and red troops on green rioters?
But then again, none of our ‘betters’ would ever play the race card, would they?
Not to worry...
They have been conditioning troops toward this eventuality for years.
Who knows what mind control stuff they may well use in the process.
And that doesn’t even begin to get into the foreign troops on our soil nor the foreigners in our military.
Nor does it touch on the 30% or so who are in sympathy with the traitorous idiots.
How about stating what he believes without the double negative.
The “deep sense of foreboding” that has permeated EVERYONE except the euphoric Ozombies has got me feeling like you.
I sometimes wish I were that foolish and stupid and at least be blissfully happy as I see civilization wipe itself out.
INDEED.
See post #59 for the FedBizOpps Synopsis and Award announcements. Northcom already admitted that at least 20,000 active duty troops that are being placed inside the United States would be dealing with civil unrest and crowd control. Link is in the article.
A link to the U.S. Army War College document referenced in the article is here (.pdf file).
A notice from the Center on National Security and the Law states:
Earlier this month, the Army War College has released a report entitled "Known Unknowns: Unconventional 'Strategic Shocks' in Defense Strategy Development," which details a number of unconventional events which could derail the new administration's security policy. Among the unforeseen events considered are the collapse of a strategically important country, massive internal disorders within the United States (perhaps brought on by economic collapse), and a China-Russia axis threatening important American economic interests.
A related article on martial law can be found here. It states:
U.S. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Calif., both said U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson brought up a worst-case scenario as he pushed for the Wall Street bailout in September. Paulson, former Goldman Sachs CEO, said that might even require a declaration of martial law, the two noted.
Are you awake now?
Yep. There was a thread on this a few weeks ago. An ex-military guy said they would never do it. Then someone linked to this:

This should make your blood run cold - and then boil. It is one of the direct catalists for my purchasing the Remington.
