What did China do?
The troops that crushed Tiananmen were drawn from areas with a large enough dialect difference from Beijing Mandarin that they may as well been foreigners as far as understanding what what the protesters were saying.
Suppose, just suppose, someone illegally divvied up the troops along, oh, I dunno, racial lines and used, say, just for the sake of argument, green troops on red rioters, and red troops on green rioters?
But then again, none of our ‘betters’ would ever play the race card, would they?
