“which is exactly why security clearances that include background investigations are done on them.”
On both native and non native citizens, nobody here is saying that should not be done
“There are many flags that, rightfully, are cause for additional investigation, such as being born in a foreign country”
That’s never been a flag in and of itself. Hell Kissinger was a German.

“So our government is racist for requiring additional background investigation during security clearances of those born in a foreign country”
nothing to do with our government... *YOU* look like a racist for screaming ‘how dare he appoint a foreigner’ before his background check has even been done! and the fact you do it here puts a small stink on this whole community.
“You think we should do away with those requirements completely, and we’re racist for flagging them as different than naturally born citizens?”
You dont think natural born citizens should have a background check done?

Well what do you know, the sports talk dude, speaking of being "out" no one's seen you since your football team lost a couple years ago, must have pretty traumatic.
And there again you'd be wrong (as usual) as I HAVE been around ever since, just lurking more than posting. I took a break from FR.
Oh yeah, how is your girlfriend Bill Gates reacting to getting OWNED in the European anti-trust cases? I thought it was hilarious myself....

If they're going to work in many positions in the Federal government, especially those of high authority, it's very important that they have the best interest of our government at heart, which is exactly why security clearances that include background investigations are done on them. You may not respect or appreciate this need, but it is a long standing and very important one to help ensure our government isn't infiltrated by those who wish to cause it or us harm. There are many flags that, rightfully, are cause for additional investigation, such as being born in a foreign country, being married to someone from a foreign country, etc, which even Obama won't be able to easily overturn if he ever tries.
You are just paranoid that the snowjob Microsoft has done on the government for the past decade plus is coming to an end....
This individual will have the proper background checks and as a member of the Obama administration, the Republicans will be looking for stuff on him at all times.
Now go worship your little altar to St. Bill and let the adults continue their conversations without annoyances from the kids.....

My initial request of you, so nice to ignore, is evidence that he *produced* open source or *converterd* closed source to *open source*. He's not a developer, he's a policy maker, and his policies are open source oriented. Do you really not understand the implication?

let the adults continue their conversations without annoyances from the kids..... Absolutely hilarious considering that's coming from the creator of the "Jim Rome Ping List" here at FR! Thankfully it's been defunct while you were recovering from your football team's latest loss in the NC title game, but now that you're back it's probably high on your list. Lots of serious adult talk going on there huh.

From the very first link I gave you titled “The First U.S. CIO, Vivek Kundra: Bodes Well for Open Source”:
The Apps for Democracy initiative is probably the most telling example of Kundra’s friendliness toward open source. The Washington, D.C. program included cash prizes for citizens who created open source mashup applications of use to the government...Matt Asay notes that Vivek is probably very good news for open source, and I agree, especially given the Obama administration’s existing interest in open source.
Still in Denial?

I never said they should not do a full security check on this person, or any person getting this high into a position of authority. All I said is that he should be able to get the position, if qualified. In the future let's please not add things to my postings that I didn't say or imply.
Thank you

VP Joe Biden was surprised at the Fed CIO pick, saying, “The President went with Kundra? Is he going to be able to get enough time off from his 7-Eleven job?”

I never said they should not do a full security check on this person, or any person getting this high into a position of authority. "Full security checks" are different if you're from another country, which I advised you of since you didn't seem to be aware of it. Based on your comments you've indicated you don't think that is fair - that national origin should not ever play a role in determining one's qualification. If that is not your position you should clear it up, you're welcome to have a dissenting opinion but that is the law, as national origin is a legitimate concern when determining someone's fitness for a high level government position. And it's not racist in doing so, in my opinion, it's smart, and there for a reason.

Kundra will have budgetary authority to launch entirely new systems within government departments, or kill existing multimillion-dollar IT projects. His decisions could have a large impact on government contractors, such as SAIC and Booz Allen Hamilton, that have come to provide the bulk of IT services to agencies.

Because private business that compete through contracts could provide better service, at lower cost, than federal workers, of course. You're exactly right this new CIO will try to grow the federal workforce instead, Obama already announced it for the IRS:
IRS dumps private debt collectors, shifts pendulum
WASHINGTON (AP) -- So much for privatizing the federal government. The Internal Revenue Service's decision this week to quit using debt collectors to dun delinquent taxpayers was celebrated by public employee unions as a pendulum shift after watching the Bush administration often opt for private contractors over federal workers to deliver government services.

Typically pathetic showing by you. If that is all you have, I've won.
BTW RDB3 took the list over.

Good now maybe the mistake of the FDCC will be reversed and those users who are going to be afflicted with Vista (which is what the FDCC really is) will be stopped until Microsuck comes up with something that actually WORKS.

Great, maybe N3WBI3 is finally coming to his senses. Might even happen to you one day, but the odds are longer.

LOL and of course your post has absolutely nothing to do with anything I've said, but that's the norm from you anyway.
I've enjoyed completely disarming any "argument" you throw up yet again. It's almost like I never left. Glad to see things never change, Iggle is afraid of anything not Microsoft but you've added a racial/nationalist tone to it. Funny.

You didn’t do anything to dispel the fact the Jim Rome Ping List is the highlight of your contributions to this site, in fact you once again reinforced it. You also made it clear you’re more than willing to support whatever Obama wants so long as it somehow satisfies your hate of Microsoft, congratulations on that as well.

ok troll, if you really want to go there. My initial and most important contribution was working with the Canteen to bring some care packages to the troops I was working with in Iraq around Christmas time.
Of course all you have is the Jim Rome ping list for some reason, I guess you were jealous.
As for the rest of it, you can dream, but again you aren't right.
Mo and Kathy, sorry to drag you in, but this troll needed it.

My initial and most important contribution was working with the Canteen to bring some care packages to the troops I was working with in Iraq around Christmas time. Well great, I'm glad to hear it, but would have never never possibly guessed such a thing based on the amazingly childish behavior you continually display on the tech threads. If you want to be treated like an adult you should start acting like one, starting with addressing the subject of this thread instead of going off on your typical attacks against me as if I'm the one supporting Obama's selection as CIO, when it's apparently the other way around. And before you ignore what I just said and immediately go into another one of your tirades against Microsoft, you might want to consider every post I've made to this thread has been done from an Apple Mac, whether you're capable of ever dealing with actual facts, or not.
