I just played ball with my First Wife’s English Pointer. I have never seen a dog throw a ball as far as Dolly can...

When I leave the room, my dog will often climb into my kitchen chair.
He's pushing 12 so it's not always easy for him, but I know he thinks it's funny!
Nothing sweeter than an old dog!

My first dog was a Boston Terrier named Tappy--many decades ago. I would put it in my bicycle basket to go to the vet, who was in the first graduating vet class at Texas A&M. I didn't know he charged; thought he was just there to take care of dogs and cats. I loved Dr. Childers.
To this day I don't know if he sent my dad a bill or not. (small town, he knew who I belonged to) I went in to see him with my aunt's puppy long after I had "moved on"--about 20 years-- and he called me by name right away. I have a feeling that he enjoyed my "visits" so much he didn't charge my dad. Back then, 7 year-olds were responsible for their pets--not the parents. I gave Tappy her pills and did the doctoring.
Tappy was run over and I remember my dad digging the grave while I comforted my mother who was crying. It was my first experience with death and I still didn't fully understand it.
Tappy taught me a lot and I have many warm memories of a cute little dog and people I loved, long dead.

Showed Ruby coming out of her crate to hubby, and then showed him the results. He said you could see it in her eyes. Ha. He said she should have been released by a pond somewhere! lol.

It was just a box of Kleenex!

"Am I forgiven yet?"
We solved the problem by putting the Kleenex in a plexiglass cover . . . she can only get one at a time!
She was considerably older when the picture of the Eve of Destruction was taken . . . but even on the first day when let out of her crate she was into things.

"Hey, what's this, anyway, Big Brown Dog?"

"Dunno, kid. Let's check it out."
They both do love ponds. And ducks. And pheasants.

The first pic, when my dog got that old, she wouldn’t ride in the back of the truck anymore.
Actually, she never did ride in the back....
