Looks like all is not quite on the western front too.
Nazi Guards Clash with Peasants - Mar 4
The construction of the Siegfried Line of fortifications along Germanys Western Frontier has, I learn, led to considerable difficulties between the Nazi authorities and the Roman Catholic peasantry of the Rhineland.
I particularly liked the part of this article where the contractors were ripping off the government. It just reminds me on what happens here in New Mexico with our public school's money and our good ol' boy system of contracting improvements.

"The British attempted to keep this meeting the deepest secret, as indeed they have attempted to keep everything else that goes on at the conference. Enough leaked out, however, to give many observers the impression that the British were attacking the Palestine problem with the same "Munich mentality" that they have brought to other meetings concerned with international affairs."The extent to which the possibility of war dominates the conference was reflected in a remark by Viscount Halifax, the Foreign Secretary, one of the most devout and upright public men in Great Britain, who said to the Zionist delegates: "Gentlemen, there are times when the justice of ethical considerations must give way to administrative necessity." "
I would imagine that such words were pure music to Adolf Hitler's ears.
