Now that the DOW seems to have recovered today I thought we could have some fun, my only question is, what do dogs dream about, here is proof that dogs dream, and even run into walls while dreaming, hmmm

Attended a talk one time by Sir Francis Crick about dreaming, and he said normal and REM stage dreams occur in all warm-blooded animals including birds, but excluding dolphins and possibly whales. His theory was that gravity forced land-dwelling animals to dream each night so the brain could purge and reboot and stay within the confines of weight limitations. In contrast, the dolphins, and maybe the whales, need not and do not dream because of a lack of constraints on the size of their heads/brains as opposed to erect bipedal hominoids on land who have to carry their heavy skulls balanced and teetering above their torsos instead of floating in weightlessness. Thought you would like to know.
BTW, Dr. Crick co-discovered DNA.

Interesting what you wrote. I have a fear of extreme heights and I would occasionally have nightmares about ‘falling’. They would wake me up!
The most amazing thing happened to me. One night I had a similar dream, I started to fall and I held out my arms and was able to FLY! Didn’t have the nightmares after that!

Our dogs have dreams from time-to-time but not like this dog and what I saw with this dog, especially in the second video, really concerned me... interesting when he barked in that second video and then stood there with his ears down I knew something wasn’t right and one of my dogs came in the room acting very concerned about that bark.
We have a cocker that sucks and kneads, she goes into a trance — it is something that calms her (not that she is hyper or anything, far from it)... but it is very interesting.
I could fly. It was the reverse of waking from a nightmare, it was waking with a feeling of euphoria!
I should have looked up the meaning of it all in some ‘dream book’!

My wife and I ‘know’ they dream. I find it amusing some say otherwise.
I’ve heard of that. It must be so frightening. What I do is have frequent dreams of not being able to dial a phone number or spell a word correctly. I try and try. In my dream I even try to get a grip by calming down and doing it very, very slowly but I still fail. It just goes on and on. I wake up so frustrated and nearly out of breath. I even noted my first computer dream when I could not spell a word on the computer as opposed to writing it out. Now they are all phones or typing on the computer.
I once had a dream about flying, back when I was taking some flying lessons. I was dreaming that I was soloing, but I was watching the plane from above, sort of like MS “Flight Simulator”. Even flew into airports I knew well, too.

What devolve is referring to (I think) is an OOBE, or Out of body experience. Those normally “happen” to persons who are near death, as far as I know.
I’m not sure if this is what you are referring to potlatch, but I occasionally can “fly” in my dreams as well.
For me, these flights occur after surmounting some very difficult obstacle or dilemma, be it personal or work related. Usually, I fly around a local area, but I have flown as far as 1500 miles away. While flying, I am fully aware that it is wholly physically impossible, but I convince myself it is simply a matter of will, which is what keep me airborne.
I find them exhilarating and refreshing. Especially the waking up and laughing about it, while simultaneously feeling pure joy AND loss at the same time...
That poor dog though, I felt badly for her even as I laughed at its predicament.
