OK so she is wearing:
* a white and black diagonally striped shirt (buttoned all the way UP!),
* a light gray puckered jacket, that looks like someone made it for her and forgot to iron the seams in the lapel, and looks like it is too small for her
* a darker gray pair of pants just a little to small as they are crawling up her legs - well that or her thighs are too big for the pants
* a turquoise sweater - again slightly to small and buttoned to get the “wings” effect
* a cheap blue vinyl belt above the waist and well above the waist band of her pants

OK so we have: black, white, light gray, medium gray, turquoise, and blue... I think she left a few colors out for the rainbow coalition!

You know, I actually wouldn’t deem it inappropriate for a White House evening function. I don’t think it’s inappropriate at all. The colors are magnificent on her, the style is flattering. It’s a great look — so long as she doesn’t wear it to his State of the Union address or the Daughters of the American Revolution meeting, I’m cool with it.

I don't expect her to dress like Pat Nixon. I don't even expect her to dress like Nancy Reagan (who I thought had wonderful taste [not that Pat didn't]), and she can dress young and hip, but the style has to be good for her — not just the designer who's getting the plug and donating the outfit.

The “Diana Ross” dress is young, vibrant AND flattering. She could pull it off. I'm not consigning her to orthopedic shoes and navy and white polka dot crepe dresses. Just consult someone other than you 9 year old who thinks you'd look great in Millie Cyrus’ line.

Bless her little heart, she does not know any better. And, what’s with the crossed arms? Is she telling the people to keep away from her and not to enter her space?

Has anyone else noticed that Michelle does not seem to ever wear a wedding band?

I noticed that at the Inagural Ball. She had a big bling ring on her left hand, middle finger. But no wedding band on her left hand, fourth finger. In these pictures I don't see a wedding band either. Looks like some sort of fancy (maybe diamond engagement?) ring on that finger, but no wedding band.

Agreed. Last year she wore a camel/black number that was really pretty. Once in a while she gets it right but seemingly that was only when she had a decent clothing handler. I shop at thrift stores and still dress better than our first lady. sigh.
