She could be stunning, with her height and her well-firmed body. She needs to ditch her whole hair, make-up, and tailoring team. Really, she should give Tim Gunn a call.
Then she has to learn how to smile and walk, sit, and stand gracefully. I guess Chicago pols never go to Charm School!
Otherwise, she will always look like a girl from the ‘hood.

The crossed arms are body language for “I really don’t want to be bothered but since I am the FLOTUS, I guess I have to”.

I thought the Carnaby Street look died in the 70’s.
All those stripes, flaps, and lapels..... really awful.
Some of the photos really belong on the “Aunt Esther separated at birth” page!

Compare the fit on the sleeves. Michelle's jacket is cheaply made, without the needed interlinings in the collar, lapels and hem, and inadequately pressed As a long-time seamstress, that's exactly what I was seeing. The sleeves give it away, as does the fact that viewing it from the front, the jacket looks too small to be buttoned up. She's a large woman (as am I) and for our types, it's even more important to have clothes that fit well. Well fitting clothes never make you look bigger, but trying to pour a large size into something too small just accentuates the size.

I never disagree with you, but that green dress was not my favorite. She added the black sash to the green dress and it makes her look pregnant imho.
She also looked off-the-charts great in the camel and black outfit she wore for the Lincoln Center Inaugural Performance.
I completely agree!

I must admit, I saw her in profile and, frankly, didn't see the black detail. Someone must be telling her that it slims her waist, and it doesn't. The neckline is very flattering and it appears to be nicely fitted. Her hair is perfect for her face in this style and her makeup looks lovely. Again, with the hands.
To: null and void
Can you say, “ma bad.” ;-)
To: Palladin
Except for her hands. She has lovely hands. Her manicure is always perfect and they are really quite delicate. She needs to put some big “bling” on her fingers. Then we could all understand, “talking with her hands.” Who wouldn’t??? ;-)

Oh, yes. Sadly, the short jacket, tight-fitting pants and the 35lbs the camera adds are a disaster. Not good. Nope, just not good at all.
I'd be crawling in a hole about now if I saw that photo published. Pulling it in after me, too.
To: Constitutions Grandchild
To be fair, I like both of these:

Wow! I had to clean my readers on the first photo. She looks like a young Diana Ross. I can see why he’s smiling. (Am I being “randy”?) ;-)
Yes, other than “leaning” on a prop, she looks top drawer in the second.
To: Constitutions Grandchild
Oh I know, the first one is not too appropriate for the first lady, but it was taken before he was elected. Maybe she should call that designer up again?
