LOL! I think Malia must have dressed her.
The jacket color is an okay choice. Personally, I think she is much better with colors in the warm tones. The jacket construction is fine - the problem is that it is not groomed. There is nothing wrong that a 10 minute session with a steamer couldn't fix, along with a light dusting of starch to give it some body.
The pants are right out. They are inappropriate in this setting and clearly do not fit. Either she has gained weight since she bought them or they were purchased too small.
The shirt is much too busy and is not even a current style. I'm not seeing high necked mitered stripes any where. What I am seeing are some tailored striped looks, but this is a nightmare and should be burned.
The cardigan. Yeah, I've seen this look in a magazine or two, but she is wearing the belt wrong. The belt should actually be on the outside of the jacket pulling the entire look together. However, this look is best used with a very thin belt.
Overall color choices - a flat F. If she is picking out her own clothes, she needs to stop immediately. Sister-friend needs to be dressed.
Rule #1 - Don't allow your clothes to draw attention to themselves and away from YOU and your message.
Rule #2 - Re-read rule #1. It's the only rule that really counts.
Good catch!!
Sarah Palin wore the short, cropped jacket styles, but hers were made well and fitted well. Compare the fit on the sleeves. Michelle's jacket is cheaply made, without the needed interlinings in the collar, lapels and hem, and inadequately pressed -- although the construction of Michelle's garment and the woolen fabric is of such low quality it wouldn't even press well.
They're still trying to hock them because, just one month later, sales projections were not met.
The jacket is not only badly made and unpressed, it's the wrong fit altogether. Even dumping the sweater wouldn't help the too-narrow arm or the el-cheapo tailoring.
The gown fit beautifully, she was standing up straight and she had a glowing smile on her face. I guess her happiness at being there transcended the other problems she faces on a daily basis.
She also looked off-the-charts great at the camel and black outfit she wore for the Lincoln Center Inaugural Performance.
Two different looks she should seek to replicate.
Who can ever forget m’obozo’s famous words: “This the first time (in my whole life) that I’m proud to be an American” uttered when obozo accept the demoncRAT presidential nomination.
I would caption this picture but you would not be able to hear me over how loud the outfit is.
I think there's a method to her madness.
She wears sleeveless dresses in the wintertime when she is seen with Hussein. This is two fold. One is to show some "skin" to tell us how "hot" she is. The other is to convince "We The People" that Global Warming is real and it's here. It's our problem that we can't "feel"it.
The layered look is when she's with folks with failing eyesight. Too bad the elderly have more taste and class while living on a budget much smaller than she.
I wonder how she would look in a uniform.
When Eleanor was Michelle’s age, she didn’t look half bad. She was tall and slim and dressed well and her teeth problem got a lot worse when she got older.
the worst thing about her appearance there is the constantly folded arms.
It says a lot about the way she feels about others. A body language expert could tell us more (and probably will)
Wide stance ping.
Geeze, we looked more stylish in our high-school gym suits (which we had to have clean and pressed or we received a demerit) in our day than Michelle ever does at her public appearances. Please...somebody...nominate her for the "What Not to Wear" show! They need to make Michelle face herself in the three-way mirror and throw out all of her clothes.
Hmmmm
Dolly, I'm worried about you. Is everything ok? need to talk?
Just so you don't feel "bashed" for your statement, I know you were trying to be polite, PC, sugar and spice ... you're right about her half acceptable ensemble:
Her shoes match her pants. I'm shocked she wasn't wearing green shoes.
What is also missing is one of those gigantic pins she likes to wear.
A flag in is just toooo small for her.
What I want to know is, if she wears low rider pants just how far apart is the waistband of her pants and her belt? ick, that would be so uncomfortable and I would always feel that something was not pushed down where it should be or something was about to fall down. You ladies know what I’m talking about. When your clothes are just not fitting exactly right.
Here is a PhotoShopped eyebrow makeover, on the right:
Oh, why?!? Why the belt?!?
Malia always looks better. That's because the baby-doll clothes Michelle prefers look appropriate on a child, but not on a First Lady.
