It was a filler..
I have been hearing about how some scifi show is pc (like Stargate SG1 or Battlestar).. I disagree, the most PC SciFi show was Earth 2.

One question for the ping list. Would
The Big Bang Theory qualify for at least an honorable mention for the weekly Sci-Fi ping list?
1. The main characters are major science fiction fans, and it's the best depiction of sci-fi fans I've ever seen on TV. I've met people like these, and in some cases, am one of them. (See Sheldon's discorse in Season One on why Superman should't have saved Lois Lane in Superman I.)
2. The premise of a relatively uneducated, but hot, waitress/actress becoming intimately involved with her scientist neighbors qualifies as science fiction...

Heroes seems to be more of a fantasy than Sci-fi — even though there is some lab “science” involved. For instance, the “catalyst” is this mysterious plasma carried by a particular human. Then there are the powers — flying, running at supersonic speed, etc. Please! All that said, it's one of my favourite programs.
Similarly, Dollhouse seems to be more fantasy than sci-fi. I'm reserving judgment on the entertainment value.
At the other end of the scale — Terminator is pure sci-fi. You could debate the likelihood of time travel; but the potential for AI robots going rouge is very real. It's too bad the ratings are low — perhaps “T4” (or whatever the final name is) will give it a boost.

Off topic.....On the new Star Trek film...After watching the trailer and looking at the pics on the website...does anyone notice that there are waaaayy too many interior lights on the Enterprise??? Can't people in the 23rd century see?

Yes, but I thought Earth 2 was the worse than TNG... It had a good premise...

The thing that always got me about ST:TNG was that they were on their way to the XYZ War in the QRS galaxy, but they detoured so they could have this pc episode.
Many times, where they were supposed to be going sounded more interesting than the contents of the episode they ended up in.

Did you catch Dollhouse?
I missed the premier (perhaps a good thing given the general reception) but I saw the second episode. I thought it was mediocre.
I liked Whedon's previous efforts (well two of them anyway) but I'm lukewarm on Dollhouse. And the ratings, which were not good for the premiere, dropped for the second episode, so it may not be around long anyway.

I went and looked and you are right.

Ha! They are both pikers compared to the awesome PC prowess of the granddaddy of all PC shows.
I of course speak of non other than the bodaciously awful "Seaquest DSV".
