Also, I wanted to hear from others why they think this is called rape. None of the female teacher on young male students case are referred to as rape.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (NBC) -- A man who police say was a Girl Scout troop leader in Faribault faces sex charges for allegedly raping a 15-year-old troop member and taking naked photos of her.
Entrusted to lead young members of two Faribault Girl Scout troops, authorities say 38-year-old Michael Borromeo is now accused of raping at least one of those girls.
"It's pretty alarming to hear that a person in a position of authority would take advantage of a young child," says Joe Yetzer, an investigator with the Rice County Sheriff's Department.
Borromeo is in the Rice County Jail, charged with several counts of criminal sexual conduct and making child pornography, charges that stem from an alleged sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl and member of one of Borromeo's Girl Scout troops.
According to Rice County investigators, Borromeo was the leader of a troop of middle school aged girl scouts and co-leader for a group of even younger girls.
Authorities say they learned about the case after the 15-year-old victim, a student at Faribault Middle School, told a school social worker Borromeo raped her.
According to the criminal complaint, the contact started in 2007 when the girl was 14. Authorities say Borromeo admitted to having at least five or six sexual encounters with her at her house and exchanging inappropriate cell phone pictures. He allegedly told investigators he loves her.

When I was in Scouts we had a leader who liked to fondle boys. We all just passed the word around that you didn't want to go into a tent with him ( he liked to give "backrubs"). No big deal.
But frankly I'm surprised there is such a thing as a male girl scout leader.
The female teachers should be charged with rape.

Exactly! Men should not be Girl Scout leaders and gay men should not be Boy Scout leaders. For exactly the same reason.
And I might add, that if the number of incidents with female teachers can be taken as an indicator, the same applies to women and gay women.

Oh, okay I see. The headline said 'rape', but I missed how he is being charged with 'sexual conduct'. Kind of a criminal charge involving sex. And since he was perverted enough to take pictures, a child porn charge as well. I see now, this wasn't really termed a 'sexual assault'

I agree. The question is, does hearing about these cases make things better or worse? How many decent people are afraid to go into careers working with children because of these rising fears? Most importantly, are our children safer in a paranoid society?
Agree 100%. We too had a guy that liked boys a little too much, and as soon as the rumor got out, he got gone.
This is a despicable crime, but it’s no more so than the female molestation cases (mostly teachers). And maybe it’s a case of “dog bites man”, but it seems that we hear about 10 cases involving female perps for every one involving male nowadays.
If this stands, then I volunteer to watch the girls shower at the local high school. I cannot understand why they just can't get the principle.
I remember about thirty years ago, a little six year old Vietnamese girl was raped, murdered and left in a dumpster. I knew some people who lived in the same apartment complex. There was one newspaper story on it, buried in the back pages. When they caught the guy, it didn't even make the news.
In the Harry Potter books, Hermione told a reporter, "I thought the Daily Prophet existed to tell the truth." The reporter responded, "The Prophet exists to sell itself, you silly girl." Same with CNN. Drug wars and dead kids on the Mexican border don't sell advertising. Soap opera tales of intrigue with good looking women and missing molested girls do.
I think they should stop using Alcatraz as a tourist attraction and move the entire homosexual population onto their own little paradise.

Females can not rape anyone. They can sodomize with a foreign object, but they can’t rape. When adult female teachers seduce their charges, it should be handled and prosecuted as severely as rape, but it can not be called rape. It has to be called something else.
